Logitech is apparently looking to expand its hardware empire even further. It hasn’t even been four months since the company confirmed that it’s going to acquire Blue Microphones. A new report claims that Logitech is also interested in acquiring a headset maker called Plantronics and has reportedly bid $2.2 billion for the company.
Reuters reports that Logitech is in discussions to acquire Plantronics, a U.S. company that makes Bluetooth earpieces and gaming headsets. If a deal is reached it would be Logitech’s largest acquisition ever and would highlight its efforts to further diversify its business.
Logitech has reportedly offered more than $2.2 billion for Plantronics. If the negotiations end up being successful, a formal announcement of this deal could be made as early as next week. However, sources mentioned in the report caution that it’s also possible that the talks fall through with no deal being signed.
Plantronics declined to comment on the matter when reached by the scribe while Logitech didn’t respond to its request for a comment. One of the reasons the two companies are said to be in talks for a deal is the effort to reduce manufacturing costs and limit the impact of the Trump administration’s tariffs on imports from China into the United States.

The Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi is joining the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 roster next week. EA has confirmed that Ewan McGregor’s Kenobi will arrive with two Appearances. The first is his default Jedi Master Appearance and the second is a robed costume which is quite similar to his later incarnation.
Kenobi is a master of defensive lightsaber combat and usage of the Force. James Arnold Taylor, a veteran of The Clone Wars animated series, will be voicing him in the game. EA says that it’s aiming for the likenesses of the real-life actors who played these characters. This is why Obi-Wan Kenobi has been modeled after Ewan McGregor’s portrayal in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
Kenobi’s blocking skills are superior to any other Jedi in the game while he couples this near perfect defense with stamina and powerful, chained melee attacks. The Restrictive Mind Trick Ability will let players disrupt the target’s Abilities for a short time to outsmart them.
EA has confirmed that Obi-Wan Kenobi will be available in Star Wars: Battlefront 2 on November 28th with the Battle of Geonosis update. The character not only trained Luke Skywalker but also trained and fought alongside his father Anakin Skywalker. It’s this chapter of his life that has primarily shaped his representation in this game. Anakin Skywalker is also coming to Battlefront 2 in February next year.

The BrainGate2 implant is an electrode array system which essentially translates thought into text. It has enabled three people who are paralyzed from the neck down to use unmodified tablets to browse the internet, text friends, and stream music. These findings can go a long way in improving the lives of people who are paralyzed or suffer from a neurologic disease.
BrainGate 2 relies on an array of micro-electrodes implanted into the brain. They can decode the neural signals that are associated with the intention to move a limb in real-time. The three people who were involved in this trial had it implanted over part of their motor cortex, that’s the part of the brain which helps control movement.
The implant picked up the neural activity which indicated that they were thinking about moving a cursor on the screen. Those neural signals were then sent to a virtual mouse which was paired to the tablet wirelessly.
The participants were thus able to perform common digital tasks such as web browsing and music streaming using just their thoughts. One even played a digital piano. She told researchers that “The tablet became second nature to me, very intuitive.”
The technology itself isn’t new as it has been around for a few years. What’s interesting about this particular iteration is that it enables users to navigate completely unmodified devices taken right off the shelf without any changes or special features. These findings show that this technology can indeed be used to bring back mobility and communication independence to those who otherwise have limited control without requiring expensive equipment.
