If you are thinking about getting Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the 7th of December, which is when the game is expected to be released, then you might want to take note that there will be a day one patch for the game. This was revealed by the game’s director Masahiro Sakurai in an interview with Famitsu.

According to Sakurai, he confirmed that there will be a day one patch for the game. He claims that this patch is meant to help protect against replay desyncing but it is unclear if the patch will contain other things, such as last minute bug fixes, improvements, and so on. There was also no mention of how big the patch will be, but hopefully it won’t be too big.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is set to be a very successful release. It was previously revealed that the game had smashed various pre-sale records, so hopefully the actual sales will also be similarly reflected. The game also seems to have been pirated, where leaked copies of the game have made their way online about 2 weeks before its release which according to pirates, is rare.

The game will feature a pretty massive roster at launch with over 70 playable characters. Nintendo will also be releasing DLCs for the game that will add new characters, new stages, an new music that will be released in the future.
