These $299 Earbuds With A Louis Vuitton Logo Cost $999

Louis Vuitton is an iconic fashion brand and its products generally cost thousands of dollars. If you’ve got $995 to blow, then perhaps you should consider investing its Louis Vuitton Horizon Earphones. You’ll be paying $700 extra for the logo only, though, because the earphones are actually a pair of wireless earbuds that Master & Dynamic launched last year for $299.

Some might say that even at $299, the Master & Dynamic MW07 earbuds were too expensive to begin with. Add on top of that a Louis Vuitton logo and you’ve got a product that can retail for $995. And yet you’ll find people buying it.

Louis Vuitton hasn’t done anything tech-wise on these earbuds. They’re the same as the non-LV ones that Master & Dynamic sells. The latter already angled for the premium market with this $299 product by giving the earbuds an asymmetrical design and unique color finishes. This collaboration with Louis Vuitton will push them to the top tier of the premium segment.

The one major difference is that the Louis Vuitton versions come with a circular charging case that’s also adorned with Louis Vuitton logos. That’s just to reiterate the fact that you’ve paid a boatload of money for the logo value only. No word as yet on when these earbuds will be available for purchase from LV.

Screen Protectors May Make Galaxy S10’s Display Fingerprint Sensor Useless

The Galaxy S10 is going to be the first smartphone from Samsung to come with a display-based fingerprint sensor. We have seen this technology already on several Chinese handsets and Samsung is now jumping on the bandwagon with its next flagship. However, if you like using screen protectors on your devices, you may want to look elsewhere.

Accessory manufacturer Armadillotek makes things like screen protectors for a wide variety of devices. It will obviously be making them for the Galaxy S10 series as well. The company claims to have tested its protectors on “real” Galaxy S10 phones and says that the display-based fingerprint sensor does not work with protectors.

This will likely be cause for concern at least for some customers who wouldn’t want to use an expensive smartphone like the Galaxy S10 without additional protection for the display. The company says that the Vanguard case it ships for the Galaxy S10 will thus not feature a screen protector.

It may be possible to get a different result with screen protectors from another accessory maker. There are examples of smartphones with in-display fingerprint sensors working with protectors so all hope is not lost. This will eventually be cleared up after February 20th once Samsung officially launches the Galaxy S10 in San Francisco.

LG To Launch Phone With Second Screen Attachment

LG is reportedly working on an as-yet-unnamed smartphone which will come with a second screen attachment. What that means is that you will be able to effectively snap on an additional screen on the phone. This sounds reminiscent of LG’s ill-fated “Friends” modules that allowed you to expand the functionalities of certain smartphones.

CNET hears from people familiar with the matter that this new smartphone will have an option for a second screen attachment. The attachment in question will be sort of a case that has a screen. So it would basically allow users to double the total screen size with a removable attachment.

We may not have to wait for too long to find out more about this device. LG is reportedly going to launch it at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona next month. It’s said that LG is considering the G8 name for this device but it’s not a done deal for now.

The report also mentions that this won’t be the foldable smartphone from LG that Korean media has recently been reporting on. That’s likely going to be a separate device and it remains to be seen if it’s going to be unveiled at MWC 2019 as well next month.

Unicorn Skulls Offer an Imaginary Anatomy Lesson

If your home decor is lacking, perhaps you just need some more skulls. These decorative unicorn skulls should do the trick just fine. Each resin skull is hand-painted and polished and looks like what a real unicorn skull would look like if they existed. Maybe you can hang this next to your Bigfoot fur rug, Chupacabra skeleton, or Ogre taxidermy trophy.

Each skull measures 10.75″ (h) x 8.5″(w) x 4.75″ (d). Something tells me that this isn’t to scale with an actual unicorn. Its horn is screwed onto the skull which I don’t think is how it works in real-life but what are you gonna do? Maybe you can swap that horn out for other stuff, like a decorative ice cream cone, a hand making devil horns, a lightsaber, or other fun accessories. I like the idea of a Jedi unicorn with a lightsaber instead of a horn. I might have to make a short Star Wars film with an all unicorn cast. The lightsaber duels will be the best. When they collide they create rainbows.
