New York Hotel Makes 20-Pound Hot Chocolate

Look at this giant ass cup of hot chocolate. Those little cups you see are normal sized mugs arrayed around it because it’s so massive it’s meant for sharing punch bowl style. I bet you can’t drink it all yourself, but you can try. It’s packed not only with hot and chocolaty liquid, but the gigantic drink also has cinnamon sticks, whipped cream and plenty of jumbo-size toasted marshmallows.

Along with all that tastiness, you can also add your favorite adult beverage to the mix. Maybe something minty, or some Bailey’s to round out the package? The giant drink is being made in celebration of National Hot Chocolate Day on January 31 (who knew that was a thing?)

You can order a giant cup at PHD Terrace at the Dream Midtown hotel in New York City. Bring friends to help drink the beast and to pay for it; the giant spiked cocoa will run you a whopping $375.

Microsoft Is Going Big For Xbox At E3 2019

E3 is one of the biggest gaming trade shows of the year and Microsoft tends to have a major presence at the event with the Xbox. The company’s Executive Vice President of Gaming Phil Spencer said that there was a discussion internally about whether Microsoft should go big at E3 2019 or tone things down a little to save some money? “No, we’re going to do our thing and we’re going to go and be as big at E3 as we’ve ever been,” he said.

Spencer says that the company is still having discussions about how much it’s going to reveal about near-term and long-term games. He added that Microsoft has great content for its E3 2019 event and that it’s going to talk about the future of its gaming plans.

His comments were made in a podcast with Director of Programming of Xbox Live Larry Hryb. Spencer also mentioned that Playground Games and Rare are working on new games but obviously didn’t reveal what they are. These games may not be shown off until a year or so. Rumors have suggested that Fable 4 is under development at Playground but there has been no such confirmation from the developer itself.

It will surely be interesting to see what Microsoft ends up announcing at its E3 event. Many will be expecting some sort of announcement about the next-generation Xbox console that we keep hearing rumors about. Microsoft may also reveal more details about its Project xCloud game streaming service.

This Drone Would Use Sonic Waves to Put Out Fires

It looks like a UFO, but the conceptual ‘Feuxzy‘ drone has very earthly origins. It was created as a solution to keep forest fires at bay in rural areas and prevent them from getting out of control. It has a very unique way of extinguishing fires.

This concept drone was designed by Adolfo Esquivel and Martin Rico of Imaginactive. The way it would work is simple. The drone would monitor woods, forests and parks for fires, using thermal imaging and other sensors. If it locates a fire, it would use low-frequency bass sounds to disrupt the air around the fire. This would theoretically remove the oxygen from the area to help put out the flames quickly without human intervention or even water.

It would be powered by lithium-ion batteries or a fuel cell that can continue to operate even in extreme temperatures. It could help to keep human firefighters out of danger, which is a great reason to have this in our forests all by itself and it could help to prevent disastrous fires like the recent ones in Paradise, California. So it could save save civilian lives and property as well.

The Feuxzy is a concept for now but could be real one day soon.
