CTL Chromebook Tablet Tx1

Those in the education line know that having the right kind of tools are essential in making sure that one is able to glean the maximum amount of knowledge during the learning process. Over the years, educational tools have varied and changed — for the better, of course. This time around, technology has stepped further ahead with the CTL Chromebook Tablet Tx1 that was specially developed for the education sector.

The CTL Chromebook Tablet Tx1 is no slouch when it comes to durability for one very simple reason: it has been ruggedized in order to withstand the rigors of everyday school life. After all, a person with a notebook will treat it very differently when bringing it to the office as opposed to the boisterous nature of school-going children. Sporting a non-slip texture to keep the drop-resistant outer shell design company, it will arrive in a lightweight body that will tip the scales at a mere 1.2 lbs.

Regardless of whether you are a student or a mobile worker, you will be able to work and collaborate more with the bright, high resolution featuring a 9.7-inch QXGA IPS touch display with 2048 x 1536 resolution. As a further part of the deal, the CTL Chromebook Tablet Tx1 will also incorporate an integrated Wacom EMR stylus. This particular stylus will be able to provide the ability to sketch, draw, and take down notes with a quick response and with pinpoint accuracy. Best of all is, you will find the stylus ready to work at all times since it does not require a battery to run, and is resistant to drops and spills.

Underneath the hood, the latest Chrome OS will keep the CTL Chromebook Tablet Tx1 running, alongside a Google-optimized OP1 hexa-core processor with two Cortex-A72 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores. Other hardware specifications include 32GB of internal memory and 4GB of RAM, a USB-C port, a headphone jack, a microSD card reader, a 2MP front-facing camera and a 5MP world-view rear camera, with a 10 hour rated battery life.

Google ‘Coral’ Device Benchmarked With Snapdragon 855, Android Q

We know that every year Google releases new Pixel smartphones. This launch usually takes place in the later part of the year, but it seems that Google might have something early in the works. According to a recent benchmark sighting, a device called “Coral” was spotted where it looks to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and runs on Android Q.

It is unclear if this device will be one of the Pixel phones. This is because Google usually gives its Pixel phones codenames based on fish, and while “Coral” is aquatic themed, there is a good chance it might not be a Pixel handset. Instead some are speculating that this could be a Chromebook or tablet of sorts that is powered by Qualcomm’s chipset.

This wouldn’t be the first Snapdragon-powered laptop we’ve seen, so we wouldn’t be surprised if this was some kind of Chromebook. However the fact that it runs on Android Q does raise some eyebrows since Chromebooks would use Chrome OS. The fact that it runs on Android Q also seems to hint that the operating system could be getting close to being released as a developer preview, which is in line with what the company has done in previous years.

We should point out that benchmarks can be faked so it’s probably best to take this with a grain of salt for now until we can get more information, if there is any to be had.

Samsung’s Foldable Smartphone Could Get A 5G Variant In Korea

We know that Samsung is working on a 5G smartphone with the various carriers in the US, but whether or not this smartphone will be a variant of the Galaxy S10 remains to be seen. However it seems that whether or not it will be a standalone handset or a variant of the Galaxy S10, a report from SamMobile has revealed that the company’s foldable smartphone could be getting 5G as well.

The report claims that a 5G version of the foldable phone will be offered in South Korea, but whether or not that version will find its way to the US remains to be seen. This is good news for those planning on adopting the phone, although we imagine that this probably isn’t doing the price of the phone any favors.

There have been reports that claim that the foldable phone will be expensive and could cost around $1,800. This isn’t surprising since it is brand new technology, and you would basically be paying for a smartphone and tablet at the same time. Tacking on 5G will probably increase that price further so we wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up costing $2,000 or more.

Samsung teased their foldable phone at SDC last year where we saw the foldable display in action, but the company is hosting an event on the 20th of February, 2019 where the Galaxy S10 will be unveiled and possibly the foldable phone as well.

iPhone Shipments To China Are Down By 22%

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook had recently confirmed that demand for the iPhone is weaker than they expected, and that a market that they’re seeing the most weakness in is China. It is unclear why that might be as there could be several reasons, such as cheaper alternatives from local brands, and the ongoing trade war between the US and China which could prompt locals to support Chinese brands.

For those who might be wondering how bad the situation in China is for Apple, according to Strategy Analytics, it seems that Apple has experienced a 22% decrease in iPhone shipments to the country. Based on their findings, Apple shipped about 10 million iPhones to China in Q4 2018. This is a lot of phones, but when you compare it to the 14 million they shipped in Q4 2017, that’s a huge difference.

In fact their numbers seem to suggest that Apple’s foothold in China isn’t what it used to be. Local companies such as Huawei and Vivo have only seen an increase in shipments from 90.8 million to 105.1 million for Huawei, and 73.1 million to 79.3 million for Vivo. It is anyone’s guess as to what Apple can do to turn things around for themselves, although last we heard, the company had authorized discounts for its phones in China which should make it more accessible.

However like we said, another possibility for flagging sales is due to the ongoing trade war where we have heard how some Chinese companies are punishing employees who use iPhones, while others are offering incentives to employees to make the switch to a local brand.
