Facebook Allows Page Admins To Reply To Instagram DMs From FB Inbox

Amid reports that Facebook is looking to unify its messaging apps, and it owns the most popular ones, it has now allowed admins of Facebook Pages to respond to their Instagram Direct Messages right from the Page’s inbox. This would make it much easier for them to communicate with their audience spread across the two Facebook-owned platforms.

The announcement came in a press release for the Facebook Communities Summit which took place in the presence of more than 400 community leaders at the company’s Menlo Park headquarters. The company announced a handful of product updates to help them to continue building their communities on the world’s largest social media platform.

The new features added include additional post formatting tools and ways to manage groups like how to inform a member when they violate a rule. A pilot program has also been launched which allows groups and brands to collaborate, bringing subscription groups to more partners.

In addition to that, Page admins have now been allowed to respond to Instagram Direct Messages from their Facebook Page inbox. This could be the stepping stone to enhanced integration between Facebook’s services as has been reported recently. It does make sense for Facebook to allow users to do this as it ensures that they can spend additional time on the Facebook site itself.

Toyota Finally Adds Android Auto Support

Toyota has finally relented. It has been one of the biggest car manufacturers to not offer Android Auto support in its vehicles but that’s set to change now. The Japanese auto giant has confirmed at the Chicago Auto Show that it’s bringing Android Auto to six models, initially. Four of the six models that are receiving support for Android Auto happen to be pickup trucks.

It was first rumored in the fall of last year that Toyota could announce Android Auto support for some of its new models. Toyota has long been focused on developing own system based on Automotive Grade Linux which relies on Ford’s SmartDeviceLink to enable select phone apps to be mirrored on a car’s screen.

The 2020 4Runner, 2018 Aygo, and 2020 models of the Sequoia, Tacoma, Tundra. The 2019 Yaris is going to receive it as well but only in Europe. Both the Aygo and Yaris hatchbacks aren’t sold in the United States. It’s interesting to note that Toyota hasn’t decided to introduce Android Auto with volume sellers like the Corolla which many would think would be a more apt decision. The company hasn’t revealed any information about other models that might potentially get Android Auto support as well.

It’s not like Toyota has been completely averse to these platforms. It said in January last year that Apple CarPlay will be included in the 2019 Avalon in addition to other sedans and small SUVs. All of these new models that are getting Android Auto will also have support for Apple CarPlay.

Samsung 837 NYC To Let You Play With Galaxy S10 Right After It’s Announced

You normally have to wait for a couple of weeks to actually experience a new smartphone after it’s unveiled. Companies normally open pre-orders right away and the phone hits shelves a couple of weeks later. That’s when demo units start becoming available at retail outlets as well. Samsung won’t keep fans waiting that long this time around, provided they’re located in New York City.

You’ll be able to head over to the flagship Samsung 837 store in New York City to play with the new devices right after the company unveils them on February 20th in San Francisco. Samsung will be unveiling three models of the new flagship, the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and the Galaxy S10+.

Samsung created this flagship store in NYC to enable visitors to experience its latest and greatest products. It’s the company’s biggest “experience center” in the United States. It wasn’t developed as a typical store as it’s more of a place for people to experience new products.

Those who are interested in getting some hands-on time with the Galaxy S10 models on February 20th are required to sign up at the official Galaxy Unpacked livestream website. Click on the RSVP button to register and reserve your spot. You’ll be required to log into your Samsung account first. It will not be possible to pre-order the Galaxy S10 there. Samsung will most likely start taking pre-orders from February 21st, if recent reports are any indication.

Coolpad Dyno Smartwatch

When we talk about smartwatches, most of the time the most common name that will flash across one’s mind would be the Apple Watch. However, there are many other different companies out there who have come up with their very own versions of smartwatches, and these tend to have their fair share of capabilities as well. The Coolpad Dyno smartwatch is one such timepiece that will target your children as opposed to catering a high powered executive.

The primary purpose of the Coolpad Dyno smartwatch would be to keep parents connected to their little ones while sporting a form factor that is secure, sturdy and simple enough for just about anybody to use. It is extremely colorful in order to retain its appeal to the little ones out there, and happens to be the first in a range of family-oriented connected products that is offered by Coolpad.

In order to keep up with the times, the Coolpad Dyno smartwatch sports 4G LTE connectivity, an intuitive user interface that should be able to let anyone get started right from the get go, an SOS button for quickly contacting parents in an emergency, and kid-proof protection against dust and water. It will have to be paired with an easy-to-use companion app in order to maximize its potential, and with this particular smartwatch, parents are able to quickly locate their children, enable “safe zones” with virtual perimeter alerts so that no child will be able to wander off without alerting the parents, and communicate via voice and text messages.

Parents who are extremely busy and yet do not have the financial ability to enlist domestic help will definitely find the Coolpad Dyno smartwatch to be a timepiece that is worth picking up for their precious ones. With a recommended retail price of $149 apiece, it might prove to be rather pricey but what cost would any sane parent place on peace of mind?
