Apple Now Lets You Buy A Refurbished iPhone X
Posted in: Uncategorized
iPhone X wasn’t exactly a cheap smartphone when it arrived back in 2017 and if you’ve been waiting for a good deal on one of those, there’s now a new option for you to consider. Apple has now started selling the refurbished iPhone X for the first time. Apple is selling the 64GB and 256GB versions of the device through its online store.
Customers can purchase the 64GB and 256GB refurbished iPhone X from Apple for $769 and $899 respectively. They will have peace of mind that all of the refurbished units have been tested and repackaged by Apple and are backed up by one year of the company’s standard warranty.
All refurbished models also come with a new battery and outer shell as well as all manuals and accessories that you would expect to get in the box after purchasing a brand new device. That’s one major advantage of buying a refurbished model instead of a used one which will likely be a bit cheaper.
The iPhone X is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination even at these prices but when compared to the original $899 and $1,049 price tags of these variants, this does offer good bang for the buck. Moreover, you do get a pretty solid flagship smartphone in return for your hard earned money.

If attempts at election meddling had any tangible effect on the US midterms, you won’t hear about it from some officials. The Departments of Justice and Homeland Security have submitted a joint report to President Trump saying there was no evidence…
The Super Bowl LIII saw a significant increase in its streaming numbers, nevermind the fact that it was one of the lowest-scoring games ever. The Big Game was streamed across 7.5 million devices which is a 20 percent improvement compared to last year. Viewers consumed over 560 million minutes of live coverage, up 19 percent from last year. It’s interesting to note that the streaming figures have jumped even as TV viewership for the game declined.
The figures shared by CBS show that falling TV and cable viewership has been offset by cord-cutters who are increasingly relying on standalone streaming services to get their entertainment fix. The NFL itself sells a pass to those who simply want the ability to stream its games on a variety of devices such as smartphones and even gaming consoles.
CBS leveraged this tilt to prop up its CBS All Access streaming service. It broke single-day records for subscriber sign-ups which were up by 84 percent, unique viewers up by 46 percent and time spent across all content up by 76 percent.
The total number of people who tuned in to watch Super Bowl LIII across both TV and streaming platforms was 100.7 million. The overall viewership for one of the biggest sporting events of the year was done from 111 million in 2018, according to data from Nielsen.

Apple has released a new beta version of iOS 12.2 yesterday. While the final version isn’t available just yet, here’s what you should expect: new Animojis and a fake 5G logo if you’re an AT&T customer.
If you have an iPhone X, XS, XS Max or XR, you’ll see new animals in the Animoji collection. As 9to5mac spotted, you will be able to record video message and replace your head with a giraffe, an owl, a shark or a warthog. These Animojis will also work during FaceTime calls.
Here’s a picture from 9to5mac with the new lineup:
More interestingly, Apple succumbed to AT&T’s marketing plot to rename 4G into 5G. MacRumors noticed that some AT&T users now have a ‘5G E’ icon in the top right corner when they upgrade to the beta version of iOS 12.2. Some Android phones already show a 5G E icon after an AT&T update.
But don’t get fooled, this isn’t 5G — this icon replaces the LTE icon. AT&T has basically rebranded LTE with carrier aggregation as 5G Evolution. But it still runs on the same network.
Here’s a picture from the MacRumors forums:
The same thing happened in the U.S. during the transition from 3G to 4G. AT&T decided to rebrand its 3G HSPA+ network to 4G. It’s the reason why many carriers talk about LTE instead of 4G.
AT&T confused everyone back then, and the company is about to do the same again. It’s too bad Apple is helping AT&T with this iOS update.
