FBI Sting on Huawei Ends With a Meeting Over Burgers, a Raid, and No Charges Currently

In what sounds like a half-baked movie script about corporate espionage, an FBI sting conducted in collaboration with a specialized glass maker (and watched from a gelato stand by a reporter from Bloomberg) led investigators to a meeting at a burger joint in Vegas during CES. However, despite getting enough evidence…

Capcom Open To Resident Evil 3 Remake

Capcom has seen considerable success with the Resident Evil 2 remake so it’s understandable that fans would be interested to find out if the company plans on giving a similar treatment to other titles in the franchise. Capcom has said that it’s open to the idea of a Resident Evil 3 remake, provided that fans want it.

Resident Evil 2 isn’t the only legacy title that Capco has remade. It did the original Resident Evil as well, granted it wasn’t as expansive as the latest one, but at least it brought the original title to the current-gen consoles.

This makes Resident Evil 3 a good candidate for a remake as not only would it become playable on modern consoles, it’s also set 24 hours before the events of Resident Evil 2. It also uses some of the same assets and locations in the game.

Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi was open to the idea in a recent interview, saying that it depends on feedback from fans whether this game gets remade. Capcom had been hearing from fans regarding the Resident Evil 2 remake for years before it decided to go along with the project.

So nothing is confirmed right now with regards to a Resident Evil 3 remake. Fans of the title can rest assured that Capcom will make it happen if enough demand is present. It remains to be seen, though, if and when this might happen.

Ford Made a Sweaty Robot Butt to Simulate Sweaty Human Butts

If you’ve ever gotten into your car after a big workout or on a really hot day, you and Ford’s latest robot likely have something in common. A sweaty butt. To make sure that your car seat will stand up to such things, Ford engineers in Europe are going all out.

Ford’s Robutt is designed to mimic a sweaty butt. Taint nothing butt another chance to get crackin’ on quality at Ford. Ford uses the butt to test the effectiveness of their car seats over time. It is basically a butt-shaped cushion attached to a Kuka industrial robot arm, which is repeatedly pressed onto the tester seat to recreate 10 years of sweaty wear and tear.

The sweat test takes three days to complete and by the end of it, Robutt sits in the test seat 7,500 times, and even leans from side to side. In case you are wondering, the Robutt has the butt dimensions of a large man, is heated to body temperature, and soaked with 450 milliliters of water.

So there you go. Robots are getting grosser as they strive to copy humans, showing us just how gross WE really are. At least you know that quality is still job one at Ford, and that those seats are built Ford tough.

You can pre-order Meizu’s crazy phone with no port for $1,299

If you’re interested in Meizu’s insane smartphone that doesn’t have any port or button, you can now pre-order it on Indiegogo for $1,299. Supply is limited as the company is only selling 100 units for now.

The Meizu Zero looks like any modern phone at first sight. But if you look beyond the display, you’ll notice that there’s absolutely zero port or button.

The volume button has been replaced with a touch-sensitive surface. The fingerprint sensor is integrated in the display. Wireless charging is the only way to charge the device. And if you’re thinking about putting your SIM card in the phone, there’s no SIM slot either — I hope your carrier supports eSIM cards.

There’s no speaker grille either. Meizu is using the screen as a speaker by sending vibrations through the display. It also works as a microphone, apparently.

It’s unclear if this is just a giant joke or an actual product. But it’s an interesting experiment. For $1,299, you get a phone with a 5.99-inch AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 845 system-on-a-chip. The company expects to ship the device in April 2019.
