Study Finds Fecal Bacteria On Every McDonald’s Touchscreen Tested

You may have noticed that your local McDonald’s was recently refurbished with swanky self-order machines. The chain has gradually been installing these machines in thousands of its locations across the globe as part of a service revamp. Seeing as how you’re supposed to actually touch the screen and then consume your meal not too long afterward, perhaps you’d want to invest in some pocket hand sanitizer.

The bacteria that was detected on the display itself includes staphylococcus which is said to cause Toxic Shock Syndrome, Matawele said that bacteria was “so contagious” and that there are concerns among medicines what they will do for food and supplies for the winner.

The Metro conducted a study which involved random samplings of McDonald’s locations in the United States. They are now referring to this story as “Poo Found on Every McDonald’s Touchscreen Tested.”

The paper swabbed these new self-order machines in six different locations spread across London and Birmingham. Senior Lecturer in Microbiology at London Metropolitan University Dr. Paul Matawele was already confirmed about the presence of various new bacteria, adding that “We were all surprised how much gut and [fecal] bacteria there was on the touchscreen machines. These cause the kind of infections that people pick up in hospitals.”

Intel Is Giving Up On Its Compute Cards

According to a new report, Intel has decided to end further development of its Compute Cards. The device was about the same size as a credit card and had the core components that make up a PC. This included a processor, RAM, storage, wireless modem, and more. The device was first showcased by Intel at CES 2017 and it seems that the company isn’t interested in making them anymore.

The idea behind the Compute cards was to provide companies with a simple solution to create products similar to docking stations which could be easily upgraded when Intel released new versions of the Compute Cards.

That would have meant the upgradation process would have been as simple as taking out a Compute Card and popping in a new one. Tom’s Hardware reports that Intel will no longer be making new versions of the Compute Card, ending the project after just one generation of its 7th Gen processors. It didn’t even receive its first upgraded version.

“We continue to believe modular computing is a market where there are many opportunities for innovation,” a spokesperson for the company said, adding that a decision has been made to “not develop new Compute Card products moving forward.” Intel will be selling all of the remaining inventory that it has throughout the end of this year.

Windows 10 Calculator Will Get The Ability To Graph Math Equations

Microsoft is working on a significant new feature for the Calculator app in Windows 10. It made the app open-sourced on GitHub earlier this month and so far, more than thirty suggestions have been received from contributors so far. According to a new report, Microsoft is working to add a graphing mode to the app. This will enable Windows 10 Calculator to graph math equations.

The addition of a graphing mode was actually the first open-sourced suggestion selected by Microsoft for the app. The idea came from Dave Grochocki, an engineer at the company, who pointed out that the feature would enable students to study algebra.

He added that algebra is a crucial subject before students move on to more advanced maths, science, and engineering subjects. It also happens to be a subject that most students in the United States commonly fail.

It’s not common for basic calculator apps to have graphing functionality to this feature will provide Windows 10 Calculator with a considerable advantage over other apps. This feature is currently under development so it remains to be seen how long it will take before it’s rolled out to the stable version of Windows 10. The additions in GitHub show that this feature will allow users to graph linear, quadratic, and exponential equations.

Red Bull’s Fake Meteor Had L.A. Residents Concerned

You may have seen aliens landing and meteors crashing in Los Angeles in many movies that are also made in the town as well, but many L.A. residents got concerned earlier this week when they looked up and saw what appeared to be a flaming meteor in the sky. Turns out, it wasn’t a meteor hurtling towards the Earth, it was part of a marketing stunt being pulled off by Red Bull.

Hundreds of people posted videos on social media of what appeared to be a big fireball flying very fast across the Los Angeles skyline. Many speculated what it could be, whether it was just space debris or a space rock that may cause some damage.

You can imagine that many people called up the emergency services as a result which prompted the Los Angeles Police Department to issue a statement. It said that “PSA: A meteor did not crash into Downtown Los Angeles, and no, it’s not an alien invasion… just a film shoot,” reiterating that “This is Tinseltown after all.”

It was actually a marketing stunt by energy drink company Red Bull that’s known for pushing the envelope in this regard. It had hired two wingsuit jumpers to commemorate the last supermoon of the year. The jumpers were kitted with “LED lights and sparkling pyrotechnics that lit up the night sky as the sun set and the supermoon rose.”

The fact that they were moving at 120 miles per hour above the L.A. skyline also gave the impression that this was something from outer space. Red Bull hasn’t put up the footage from this as yet but it’s possible that we may see it in future advertisements.
