Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Gets First Trailer

There’s always a lot of anticipation for Quentin Tarantino’s films and many of his fans have been waiting for a glimpse of his next project which is titled Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. A poster for the film was released a couple of days ago and now the first trailer for the film which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt has been released.

The plot of this new movie revolves around a TV actor and his stunt double as they try to make it in the tough Hollywood business around the same time that the Manson murders took place in 1969.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood has a pretty star-studded cast. Other members of the cast include Al Pacino, Tim Roth, Margot Robbie, Kurt Russel, and Timothy Olyphant. The first trailer for the movie shows 1969s Los Angeles with dialogue that one would expect from a Tarantino flick.

Much of the plot obviously remains a secret because that’s what the people will be paying to see the movie for after all. It’s going to be out later this year so there won’t be a lot of wait involved. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is going to hit the big screen on July 26th, 2019.

Amazon Updates Cheapest Kindle With A Built-In Light

Amazon today announced an update for its cheapest Kindle e-reader, the one that it brands as just “Kindle.” It gets a new feature that has long been standard on many of the company’s other readers. The cheapest Kindle will now offer customers a built-in light. That’s more or less the only major difference in this latest version of the company’s cheapest e-reader.

Amazon does say that it has made some subtle design changes so that the Kindle is more comfortable to hold. Looks wise, though, it still looks a lot like the 2016 model. The company hasn’t added the built-in light at no cost to the customer. It has raised the price of the Kindle by $10 so it will now cost $89.99 for the cheapest, ad-supported model.

The other specifications remain the same which includes the 167ppi display. The screen remains recessed instead of flush with the device as on the other models and it’s also the only Kindle in Amazon’s lineup that’s not waterproof. Customers who are interested in picking one up can now pre-order the updated Kindle through Amazon.

The company says that it will begin shipping out units to customers on April 10th. Amazon is offering gift cards to those willing to trade-in their old device in addition to a 25 percent discount on the new one. The value of that gift card will depend on how old the Kindle being traded in is.

Opera For Android Gets An Integrated Free VPN

Opera for Android users will be delighted to hear that the company has integrated its free VPN service with its Android browser. Prior to its change of ownership, the company had launched an Opera VPN service which was a standalone app for iOS and Android. It later integrated the service into the desktop browser.

However, Opera VPN was discontinued last year. It’s back now and lives within the Android browser. Opera started testing the VPN service in the beta build of its Android app last month. The latest public release, Opera 51, will now enable users to establish a VPN connection from within the browser itself.

Users will be able to pick from a variety of different server locations and unlike many other VPN services, users won’t be required to open an account in order to use this service. Opera’s VP of product marketing Jan Standal told VentureBeat that the free VPN does not mean that the app will store a log “activity of data,” and that the company will not attempt to monetize any aspect of its free VPN feature.

“The service is provided fully free of charge as a unique feature to improve the privacy and security. Opera monetizes from other unrelated mechanisms, and unlike other VPN services, Opera doesn’t depend on monetizing the browser VPN service,” he said.

San Francisco Looking To Ban E-Cigarettes

A new law, possibly the first of its kind in the United States, has been proposed by officials in San Francisco to ban sales of e-cigarettes in the state until their health effects have been evaluated by the U.S. government. This unique proposed legislation aims to reduce the rising usage of e-cigarettes among the youth.

The FDA, a national regulator, released its proposed guidelines last week and gave companies until 2021 to apply for the evaluation of their e-cigarette products. The deadline had initially been set for August last year but the Food and Drug Administration had said at that time that more preparation time was required.

San Francisco city attorney Dennis Herrera, who is one of the co-authors of this proposed bill, says that evaluation of these products should have been carried out before they were sold. A second law would prevent companies from making, selling or distributing tobacco on city property. It’s likely aimed at Juul, a popular e-cigarette company, which rents space on Pier 70.

The company said in a statement that while it supports reducing vaping among the youth, it remains the only way to eliminate access to regular, combustible cigarettes. Activists against such companies argue that they are deliberately targeting young consumers by offering flavored products.
