Samsung Electronics may face intense competition from the likes of Apple and Huawei but several of the conglomerate’s affiliates conduct business with these companies as well. Samsung Display supplied OLED panels to Apple for the iPhone X and it’s now claimed that the company has inked a similar deal with Huawei. It’s apparently supplying OLED panels for the Huawei P30 Pro, the Chinese telecommunication giant’s next flagship smartphone.
Samsung has a dominant position in the mobile OLED market. Not only can it make quality panels but it also has the capability to produce the panels at scale in order to meet the customer’s demand. That’s one of the reasons why Apple had to partner up with Samsung as well. Such deals between companies are rarely ever acknowledged by them in public so it’s safe to say that there’s no official comment on the matter from either Samsung or Huawei.
The rumor about Samsung Display not only supplying OLED panels but being the sole supplier of panels for the Huawei P30 Pro stems from a Weibo post which claims to have inside information. Huawei is said to have signed a deal with Samsung for the panels.
It’s said to have previously sourced panels from BOE, a Chinese company, and LG. Samsung Display’s mobile OLED panels have consistently edged out products from its competitors so it’s that superior quality that may have convinced Huawei to make the switch.

Groove Music is getting the proverbial final nail in the coffin. It already ended the Groove Music Pass streaming service back in 2017 but did allow users to stream their own tracks stored in OneDrive. That will no longer be possible after the end of this month. It has been confirmed that Groove Music OneDrive streaming will end on March 31st.
Microsoft has confirmed that it will no longer be possible for Groove Music users to stream their own tracks that are stored in OneDrive from March 31st. It has provided additional details about this change in a new FAQ page on the support site.
Music stored in users’ OneDrive will cease to sync with Groove Music on March 31st, 2019. Data that’s stored in the music service is going to be deleted up to 30 days after that. Users can rest assured that their music will still be available in OneDrive and their downloaded music and playlists will still be available in the Groove Music app.
“OneDrive music streaming in Groove Music will be retired,” Microsoft says. This doesn’t mean that the tracks stored in OneDrive can’t be played using the cloud storage service’s own web player. However, it will not be possible to stream them in the cloud through Groove Music. So the only option that users have now if they want to keep listening to music in Groove is to download their entire collection and save it locally on the device they use for this service.

LG showed off its new 2019 OLED TV lineup not too long ago and the company is finally in a position to confirm how much it’s going to ask for the new TVs. The company is great at making premium OLED TVs and they’re obviously priced accordingly. Since the new lineup sticks with that strategy, you can expect them to be as pricey as their predecessors.
LG is going to start shipping its new 2019 C9 and E9 series next month. The former includes 65 inch ($3,499) and 55 inch ($2,499) models while the latter has a 65 inch model. There will also be a 55 inch ($3,299) E9 and a 77 inch ($6,999) C9 model. They will arrive in May and June respectively.
The company is also going to be releasing an update to its LG “wallpaper” TV. The updated models will be available in 65 and 75 inch sizes when they go on sale in June this year. These TVs have the new features that LG detailed at CES 2019 in January. Support for Apple AirPlay 2 is among the list of new features that you get with LG’s latest TVs.
While these are pretty solid TVs, what most people are looking forward to is the gorgeous rollable OLED TV that LG demonstrated at CES 2019. The company did say that it would be shipping out the TV in the coming months but unfortunately, it hasn’t said anything about the pricing and availability of the rollable OLED TV as yet.

If a new report is to be believed, we might see the launch of a gaming platform for Snapchat next month. The announcement is expected at the Snap Partner Summit in Los Angeles on April 4th. Snap, the company behind the ephemeral messaging app Snapchat, has not confirmed or denied the report about the launch of a gaming platform.
This won’t be the first time that Snap would try its hand at games. It launched Snappables last year where were basically AR lens games. The new initiative is said to be more substantial by Cheddar, adding that the platform would even allow third-party developers to make games which would be accessible from within the Snapchat app.
Multiple reports over the past few months have suggested the possibility that a gaming platform is being developed for Snapchat. The company is also believed to have acquired an Australian game studio called Prettygreat in January this year. All of this circumstantial evidence hints at the impending launch of a new gaming platform.
Snap might reap plenty of benefits by opening up a gaming platform for the app. It will result in increased user engagement and allow the company to make more money. Snap is keeping its plans pretty hush hush at the moment. It has not commented on Cheddar’s report about the launch of a gaming platform as yet.
