On the same day that Facebook announced it was banning white nationalism from its platforms, journalists obtained a lengthy email chain involving Instagram’s content moderators, highlighting their struggle to crack down on anti-Semitism.
A few days back we talked about a joint NASA and ESA study that was being conducted in Germany looking at long term effects of weightlessness on astronauts and how artificial gravity might help them. More details have surfaced about that study, and it pays very well for doing nothing but laying in bed. The study pays participants $19,000 (16,500 … Continue reading
The other day it was rumored that Nintendo could be launching two new Switch consoles later this year. One of the rumored models is apparently a cheaper version of the Switch that would make it more appealing to gamers on a budget, and now more details about the alleged model has surfaced.
According to a report from Eurogamer, their sources have told them that the upcoming budget version of the Nintendo Switch could only be available in handheld mode only. This means that instead of being able to connect to a TV via a dock, the budget Switch is meant to be played in handheld mode which sounds like it is being aimed at gamers on the go.
The previous rumors did suggest that Nintendo could be looking to use the Switch to replace their 3DS handheld lineup. It actually makes sense because the Switch can be played handheld, plus there are a lot of new games being developed for it, so for it to replace the 3DS wouldn’t be a stretch of the imagination.
The report also claims that due to the budget version being created as a handheld, it is expected to be made out of sturdier material in order to withstand the rigours of being brought out, and also to be more kid-friendly. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but E3 is coming up in the next few months and we should have more details then.

Tesla’s Autopilot mode almost makes the car feel like a self-driving car, where it is capable of staying in its lane and also being able to avoid obstacles. The good news for Tesla owners is that it looks like Autopilot is about to get a pretty huge upgrade in the form of a red light mode where the car could stop at a red light by itself.
This was discovered by Tesla hacker verygreen who found the feature hidden in the company’s latest software update. Based on the findings, it seems that this feature would allow a Tesla to detect traffic lights, but can also enable Autopilot to act on the color of those lights where if it is red, the car will stop itself.
This means that in terms of user input during Autopilot, this red light mode would result in less actions from the driver as the car would be able to stop at red lights. We should note that verygreen managed to access this feature due to his root access to the car. This means that the feature is not available to all users yet so don’t put your Tesla in Autopilot mode and expect it to be able to automatically stop itself at a red light!
We’re not sure when the feature is expected to be released to all Tesla owners, but it does sounds like a pretty nifty feature that we can look forward to. In the meantime, you can check out the video above which shows the feature in action.

Manufacturers have been coming up with creative ways to design bezel-free phones since the iPhone X arrived. After a parade of one notched phone after another, they’ve started releasing fully bezel-free devices with pop-up selfie cameras instead. One…
Not a fan of the notch? Don’t worry, it seems that not many companies are either and many have since been trying to come up with alternatives to them, but Oppo could have the most interesting and novel approach we’ve seen to date.
In a render shared on Slashleaks, it shows off the alleged Oppo Reno smartphone where instead of a slideout or popup camera, or a hole-punch in the display, the company could actually be attempting some kind of wedge-shaped popup front-facing camera.
Based on the video above, it seems that launching the camera app and putting it into selfie mode causes the camera to popup by itself, but we’re not sure if you could manually cause it to popup (which in turn automatically launches the camera app).
While we have some mixed feelings about the design, it is interesting to say the least. It also does appear to be a bit more stable compared to the popup camera that we have seen companies like Oppo and Vivo have used in the past, although if we had to go with such a design, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3’s slideout camera does feel the most stable.
That being said, we can’t say with 100% certainty that the render pictured above is the real deal, so it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now, but assuming that it could be real, what do you think of it? Is this a design that you can get on board with?
