Android Q desktop mode might be too little too late

The first beta for the next version of Android has landed and, naturally, developers and modders are already taking it apart to look for hidden or even incubating features. One of those small nuggets is a not so hidden desktop mode for Android. And while it’s definitely interesting that Google is finally considering such an interface, it might no longer … Continue reading

iPad Mini 5 Case Leak Confirms Familiar Design

According to the rumors, Apple is set to release the iPad mini 5 in the near future. The tablet has not been updated in years and if you were hoping to see a brand new design similar to the new iPad Pros, think again. This is because according to photos published by 91Mobiles (via Cult of Mac), it seems that Apple won’t be straying too far from the previous design.

The photos depict and alleged case that will be used for the iPad mini 5 and judging by its design, it looks all too familiar which klnd of dashes any hope that the tablet will be undergoing a major design revamp. It is a bit of a pity as the iPad mini is actually a pretty decently-sized tablet that we would have liked to see given a more modern update, but it is also understandable that Apple would want to push customers towards their newer iPad Pros.

The case shows few different cutouts for ports which includes one at the bottom which presumably will still be Lightning instead of USB-C. There is also a cutout for the camera at the top with a single hole, so if you were hoping for a dual camera or a camera with a flash, you might be out of luck (but then again how many of us actually take photos using our tablets).

There is also a cutout at the top which suggests that Apple could be continuing to retain the headphone jack, which kind of feels like the only piece of good news. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully Apple will have official details for us soon.

Sony Rumored To Be Considering Take-Two Acquisition

Take-Two is a company that some gamers might be familiar with. For those who aren’t, they are the publisher and parent company behind other developer studios such as 2K Games and Rockstar. Now it seems that there is a chance that Take-Two could be acquired by none other than Sony.

This is according to a report from Market Watch (via Game Informer) who claims that Sony is currently in negotiations to take over Take-Two. Details about the acquisition are scarce and all the publication had to say is that Sony is in “advanced board level discussions to acquire Take-Two Interactive in a mostly cash deal.”

It is unclear as to how true these rumors are as neither Sony nor Take-Two have come forward to acknowledge anything so it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now. However the implications are huge if they are true as it would bring rather huge franchises, such as Grand Theft Auto, essentially under Sony’s roof where they may or may not decide to make future titles exclusive to the PlayStation platform.

This is also not the first time that Take-Two has been offered to be acquired. As pointed out by Game Informer, several years ago EA offered to acquired Take-Two, but apparently the money offered by EA wasn’t enough to sway the company, so it remains to be seen if Sony will have much luck.

Facebook’s Watch Party Expands To TV And Music

Last year Facebook launched a feature called Watch Party. For those who are hearing about this for the first time, Watch Party is a feature which allows Facebook users to watch videos live together at the same time, kind of like being in the same room together with you and your friends, except that it is done virtually.

Now Facebook has announced that they have expanded on the feature where it will now cover actual live TV and also music. “We’re introducing a new Watch Party experience that will enable people to host Watch Parties around what’s happening on live TV. People already come to Facebook to talk about exciting events and TV moments — now they’ll have a better way to do this together in real time.”

In addition to TV, Facebook also announced that Watch Party will work with music where users will be able to share music where if you attach a song to your profile, other users will be able to check out that song through Spotify. For those who don’t use Spotify, not to worry because Facebook notes that they do plan to eventually add more partners.

Note that Facebook claims that the new Watch Party feature is currently in testing and will be going live during events like the UEFA Champions League for starters.
