Verizon Mobile 5G Network Launches April 11th

Carriers in the United States will be launching their mobile 5G networks this year and Verizon has now confirmed the date for its launch. Big Red has confirmed that its mobile 5G network is going to be launched on April 11th. It will also begin to sell the 5G Moto Mod for the Moto Z3 so that users can actually take advantage of 5G speeds.

The 5G Moto Mod for the Moto Z3 will cost $349.99 at retail but Verizon wants customers to pre-order it. For that reason, it’s offering the 5G Moto Mod for $50, that’s a pretty significant discount compared to the retail price. Pre-orders open March 14th.

Verizon will exclusively be selling the 5G Moto Mod in the country. Customers will be required to have an active Moto Z3 on their Verizon account before they can purchase it. If they don’t have one, they will be required to purchase a Moto Z3 at the same time as they pre-order the Moto Mod.

The carrier’s mobile 5G network will be launching in Chicago and Minneapolis first on April 11th. It will then gradually begin rolling it out to more cities across the country. Verizon will also sell other 5G compatible devices later this year, including the 5G variant of Samsung’s Galaxy S10.

Microsoft Enables PC Game Streaming To Xbox One

Microsoft is now allowing Xbox One owners to stream their PC games to the console. They will also be able to use a controller to play the games. This has been made possible through a newly updated app called Wireless Display. It lets users play Steam or other games directly on the Xbox One.

That’s not all. Console owners will also be able to use their regular Xbox controller to not only control the remote PC but also control games using it. They will also be able to use the controller to deliver presentations through the Xbox.

The Wireless Display app makes this possible by establishing a Miracast connection between a PC and Xbox One. PC owners can easily stream to the Xbox with the Windows key + P combination. There will be different latency modes for watching videos and streaming games from a remote PC. Do keep in mind, though, that the app won’t allow streaming of protected content such as Netflix.

Microsoft has been testing this app with members of its Insiders program for a few months now under different names. It has now released the app as Wireless Display for all Xbox One owners. The app doesn’t have support for keyboard and mouse input, so it won’t be possible to use traditional inputs for gameplay when streaming PC titles to the Xbox One.
