Not all dark modes are equal, however, and some are more blue than black. Twitter’s existing Night … Continue reading

Twitch Prime Comes With A Free Year Of Nintendo Switch Online

Last year Nintendo rolled out its Nintendo Switch Online service. For those who are unfamiliar, Nintendo Switch Online is a subscription service that gamers will need in order to play their games online with each other, but now it seems that if you’re a Twitch Prime subscriber, you will be able to get a free year of Nintendo Switch Online service.

According to Twitch, “Get up to 12 months of access to Nintendo Switch Online at no extra cost. You can claim the 3-month Nintendo Switch Online access offer now, then come back to claim the 9-month individual membership when it unlocks.” Basically this means that upfront you will be able to claim 3 months of free membership, and after 60 days and assuming you’re still subscribed to Twitch Prime, you will be able to claim the remaining 9 months.

For a bit of pricing context, Twitch Prime is part of Amazon Prime that costs $12.99 a month or $119 a year. The Nintendo Switch Online is priced at $19.99 a year. This means that if all you need is Nintendo Switch Online, then it might be cheaper to just pay for it outright rather than purchasing a subscription to Twitch Prime.

However, for those who are already subscribed to Twitch Prime, they will have until the 28th of September to claim the 3 month subscription, and until the 28th of January, 2020 to claim the 9 month subscription.

Gmail For iOS Updated With Customizable Swiping Actions

Given that our mobile devices are largely touch-based, sometimes being able to interact with them using gestures could be a smarter way than just tapping on our screens. That’s what Google seems to be exploring because in an update made to Gmail on iOS, Google has introduced new customizable swipe gestures.

According to Google, “To help you get things done even more quickly, you can now customize the actions you can take when swiping on an email in Gmail on your iOS device. You can access the swipe configuration settings by going into the Gmail iOS app and navigating to Settings > Swipe actions, and choosing the swipe options that work best for you.”

The swiping will allow users to execute certain actions such as Archive, Trash, Mark as read/unread, Snooze, and Move to. Users can then customize their swipes to any of these actions, meaning that if you’re a lefty or righty, you can choose which direction you want to swipe for certain actions, thus making managing your inbox a lot easier.

These changes should already be rolling out as we speak so if you haven’t updated your Gmail app yet, head on over to the App Store to ensure that you have the latest version on your device.
