Onewheel Pint is a smaller, more affordable one-wheeled skateboard

A relatively compact one-wheeled electric-powered skateboard was revealed today with the name Onewheel Pint. This isn’t the first time a personal electric vehicle of this sort’s ever been made – it’s a sort of refinement of the concept. Like we’re a couple iterations in to the idea, and we’re getting closer to the sweet spot for size, weight, and cost. … Continue reading

You Can Eat a Burger and Still Fight For the Planet

I eat meat. Not every day but most days. I also eat out at least twice a week. That means take-out containers and plastic. I ride the New York City subway just about every day, and I try to avoid cabs. However, I also plan to own a car one day, and I fly for work often enough.

Microsoft Testing Android Screen Mirroring For Windows 10

Did you ever think it was possible for Android apps to appear on your Windows 10 PC? Microsoft is going to make this happen with its Your Phone app. The company demonstrated this app in October last year. It basically allows an Android phone’s screen to be mirrored to a Windows 10 PC. Microsoft has now started testing this functionality for PCs.

The latest updates for the Your Phone app allows Android users to mirror their phone’s screen directly to a PC. It’s making the “phone screen” feature available to Windows Insiders this week. Those who want to try it out will require the latest test builds of Windows 10 and the Your Phone app.

The app directly mirrors an Android phone’s screen to a Windows 10 PC. It also shows a list of the apps on the phone so that users can access them easily in the remote session of their phone that’s being mirrored to the PC.

The Your Phone app mirrors Android to Windows 10 PCs through Bluetooth with Low Energy Peripheral. This means that not a lot of PCs will be able to run the test builds as they won’t have support for this. The app itself is limited to select devices which include the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S9, and the Galaxy S9+ from Samsung. Microsoft says that it will expand the list of phone and PC devices down the line.

Netflix Interested In Making More Interactive Shows

Netflix has had considerable success with its Choose Your Own Adventure-style title Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. Multiple endings were filmed and the choices that viewers made during the course of the episode affected the outcome. It was certainly a unique experience as this style of interaction is common with games, not TV shows. With the success of Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Netflix now feels that it should be making more interactive shows.

Variety mentions in a report that Netflix product VP Todd Yellin has confirmed the company’s plans to make more interactive shows. He pointed out that the first one turned out to be a huge hit around the world and that “We’re doubling down on that. So expect over the next year or two to see more interactive storytelling.”

Bandersnatch was a particularly grim episode of Netflix’s sci-fi dystopian Black Mirror series. It was a good fit for the first Choose Your Own Adventure-style program but obviously the storyline may not have appealed to all viewers. Yellin pointed out that not all of Netflix’s interactive shows will be based on the same outline.

“It won’t necessarily be science fiction, or it won’t necessarily be dark. It could be a wacky comedy. It could be a romance, where the audience gets to choose, should she go out with him or him,” Yellin said.
