Sony recently took the wraps off a bunch of new phones at MWC 2019, including a flagship and a handful of mid-rangers. Unfortunately for our readers in Australia, it seems that you might not be able to get your hands on them as the company has seemingly exited the Australian market. This is according to a report from Ausdroid who spoke to various retailers.
They also cite how back in early 2018, they were able to reach out to Sony Mobile’s PR firm in Australia easily, but that changed in the later part of the year where the PR team no longer represented the company, and that they have since been also unable to contact their Sony Mobile contacts.
Australia is not the only market that Sony Mobile has exited. Several years ago, Sony announced that they would be reducing their focus on certain markets, such as the US, India, and China. More recently earlier this year it was also reported that Sony could have exited some markets in Southeast Asia.
Given that Sony phones haven’t exactly been flying off the shelves, and with Chinese OEMs offering up more exciting and more affordable prospects, we suppose the company’s slow exit doesn’t really come as a complete surprise.

Earlier this year it was reported that some MacBook Pro users were running into display issues on their laptop. This comes in the form of backlighting problems where the problem was allegedly due to the use of fragile flex cables where with the repeated opening and closing of the display hinge, it wore them out.
If this might have put you off from buying a new MacBook Pro laptop, not to worry because it seems like the problem could have since been fixed. This is according to a report from iFixit (via MacRumors) who were tipped off by MacRumors forum user Olivia88 that Apple might have addressed the problems in newer production models of the laptop.
According to iFixit, “Since we were just wrapping up writing the repair manual for the 2018 model anyway, we checked inside our 2018 15” MacBook Pro again to measure its cable against its 2016 predecessor—and found the 2018 cable was, in fact, a full 2mm longer. Since this change appears in both our 15” model and Olivia88’s 13” model, it’s plausible this change is present in multiple, if not all, 2018 MacBook Pros.”
That being said, it is unclear as to what might have caused the problem in the first case. This is because Apple has yet to officially confirm or acknowledge the problem, so it is possible that speculation about the flex cables being the issue could have been wrong. Either way hopefully these changes means that the problem will not appear as often anymore, if at all.

Recently it was reported that Sony PS4 players were encountering issues with EA’s latest game, Anthem, where there were reports of players experiencing crashing to the point where it was pretty much unplayable. The good news is that it looks like EA is aware of the issue and are looking into it.
According to a post on the EA website, a community manager writes, “Hey Freelancers. We are currently in process of gathering information about the PS4 issues so we can determine the root cause.” Based on this it sounds like it could still be too early for EA to release a fix which means that we probably shouldn’t expect to see one anytime soon.
It’s odd that the game is behaving the way it does as we imagine that the game’s developer would have tried and tested the game on the PS4 before it was launched, so it is unclear why so many players are experiencing such bad crashes with the game. Some PS4 gamers have had some luck getting refunds for the game, while others have been refused.
If you’d rather not wait for a fix then you can always try your luck getting a refund, if not then we guess there’s no real choice besides waiting it out.
We’re aware of a crashing issue some of you have been reporting for #AnthemGame. We’re investigating and ask that you share your crash data reports when prompted. If you have, we’ll be reaching out to gather info; if not, please reply to this thread on AHQ:https://t.co/36P21YFjYL
