Microsoft Unveils Custom Themed Oreo Cookie Xbox One X

If you’re a fan of limited and specially designed custom consoles, then you might be interested to learn that Microsoft has announced a special edition Xbox One X. As you can see in the image below, it is a console that has been designed to look like an Oreo, or least it shares the black and white colors of an oreo, although we reckon it feels more like an Oreo cheesecake than anything.

That being said, it is not available for purchase. Instead gamers who wish to get their hands on the console will need to buy themselves Oreo cookies to stand a chance to win it. The contest will run until the 6th of March where those who enter will stand a chance to win more than an Xbox console. There will be other prizes up for grabs as well, and all gamers need to do is scan their Oreo cookies in order to take part in it.

It is a bit of a novelty but if you’re interested, you can head on over to the website to sign up and take part in it. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Microsoft launched themed consoles. In the past we have seen the company create special edition consoles and even controllers, so this isn’t exactly new, although we’re kind of digging this design and we’re even feeling a tad bit hungry looking at it.

Democrats Hoping To Introduce New Bill To Bring Back Net Neutrality

Ever since the FCC rolled back the net neutrality rules, there has been a bit of a fight in an attempt to bring it back. We saw tech companies voice out their concerns about the lack of net neutrality, and we even saw individual states attempt to introduce state-side net neutrality rules of their own.

However for those who think that net neutrality is a good thing, then you’ll be pleased to learn that the Democrats in the US Congress plan to introduce a new bill that will reinstate the previous net neutrality rules. This was revealed by House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi who said that they would be working with their colleagues in the US Senate to help pass the bill.

For those unfamiliar with what this entails, basically, net neutrality rules was where it would have banned internet providers from blocking or slowing internet connections. For example in theory, without net neutrality, an internet provider could charge users more money to access certain websites, or slow down the speeds for some companies unless they were willing to pay more for more bandwidth.

However, with net neutrality rules, it basically says that all internet traffic will be seen as equal. While the rules have currently been rolled back, to the credit of most companies, we haven’t really seen anyone attempt to abuse it, but at the same time having those rules in place might not necessarily be the worst thing, right?

Grandma Almost Floats Out To Sea While Posing On An Iceberg

Posing for photographs is pretty much what everyone does, but we need to be more mindful of where we are posing. Unfortunately we have heard far too many stories of how people have chosen to pose at dangerous locations and have died as a result. This was nearly the same story for an adventurous grandma during a trip to Iceland.

In a report from ABC News, it seems that the grandma, Judith Streng, and her son were on holiday in Iceland when they stopped at Diamond Beach in Jökulsárlón. The grandma spotted an iceberg that looked like a throne and thought it was a good idea to sit on top of it to pose for a photo, but unfortunately according to Streng, “When I got on it, it started to totter and a wave was coming in. A very large wave came in and kind of made the throne kind of rock, and I could tell that I was slipping off.”

The wave then seemingly broke the portion of the iceberg Streng was sitting on and put her out to drift at sea. Thankfully there was a boat captain in the area who managed to rescue Streng before she drifted out too far, turning a potential tragedy into a hilarious adventure. According to Streng, “I thought it was safe. One girl had been on it and then two girls at the same time, and it was very secure with them. But I don’t weigh very much. So it was a little easier to float off with me, I guess.”

Streng seems to have a pretty good sense of humor about the entire ordeal where she also said, “I thought it [would] be quite fun. You know I always wanted to be queen. I mean, come on, that was my chance.”

Latest Essential Phone Update Adds Google’s Digital Wellbeing

It is only to the benefit of handset makers if you spend a lot of time on their devices. This means that you get more entrenched into their ecosystem, use their apps and services, and potentially makes you a loyal customer for life. However in more recent times, these companies have started to introduce features that actually try to discourage users from overusing their devices.

In fact Google had such an initiative in the form of Digital Wellbeing, which the good news is that the feature is now coming to the Essential Phone in an update. The feature was previously an exclusive to Google’s Pixel and Android One devices but in this update, it seems that more non-Pixel devices are getting it.

For those unfamiliar, Digital Wellbeing is a new platform introduced in Android where it shows users how much time they have spent on their devices, and also how much time they’ve spent on various apps on their phones. This is similar to Apple’s Screen Time where users will also be able to manage notifications so that they can try and reduce how much time they spend on their phones.

In addition to Digital Wellbeing, the update to the Essential Phone also brings about the latest Google security patch for March.
