NASA Will Pay $19,000 For You To Stay In Bed For Two Months

As much as many of us would love to stay in bed all day, watch TV, and not have to go to work, unfortunately that’s not how the real world works and many of us need to get up, go to school, go to our jobs, and be responsible citizens of society. However, there is some good news for those who want to stay in bed and still get paid.

NASA has recently announced that they are looking for participants who are willing to stay in bed for a good two whole months, and to reward your efforts, NASA will be paying these individuals $19,000. No, NASA is not a charity organization that advocates you staying in bed and doing nothing, but rather the organization wants to look at the effects of “artificial gravity” on the human body to see if it has any benefits to astronauts who might spend a long time in space.

There will be two groups involved in this experiment, where one group will be rotated around in a centrifuge similar to an artificial gravity chamber. This will force blood back into their extremities. The other group will not be moved at all. They will conduct all their activities while lying down, which includes eating, watching TV, reading, and so on.

It is an interesting experiment, although we imagine that at some point in time, too much time in bed might actually not be such a good thing. For those who are interested in applying for the job, head on over to NASA Germany’s website for the details.

Air Force To Explore AI Powered Autonomous Drones

For the most part, drones require pilots to help them find their way around. However, the need to have a pilot means that human error is a possibility with regards to certain drone operations. This is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that the Air Force has announced that they will be looking into the possibility of AI-powered autonomous drones.

Known as Skyborg, according to Maj. Ryan Carr, from AFRL’s Aerospace Systems Directorate, “We expect that technology will continue to mature fairly rapidly. What we really need to understand is, ‘How do you take that and do something like bring it to the real world and fly with it for example?’”

He adds, “The thing we’re trying to get at early on is how to do that safely. We’re talking about run-time assurance, working hand-in-hand with the flight test community who have a very long record of safe flight testing. That’s really what we want to focus our attention on in this early period.”

So what will this look like in the end? At the moment it seems that the program is still in the early stages so exactly what Skyborg could look like, what it can do, and how it will go about doing it has yet to be decided, but it is something that the Air Force is looking into.

Huawei Unveils FreeLace Wireless Bluetooth Headphones

When Huawei announced their Huawei P30 smartphones, the company also took the wraps off several other products. One of those products is the Huawei FreeLace headphones, which you can see in the image above. These are wireless headphones, which are a dime a dozen, but yet Huawei managed to include certain features that helped set it apart.

Right off the bat, you might realize that these headphones are very similar to Apple’s own Beats X headphones in terms of design, and you would be right. The ends of each earplug features a magnet that allows the headphones to clip together around your neck when not in use, but that’s where the similarities end.

The FreeLace will feature the use of 9.2mm titanium-plated drivers which is pretty big for headphones of this size, meaning that it should be able to deliver relatively solid audio quality (we haven’t tested it ourselves). It also features the use of USB-C which is used for not only pairing the headphones to your smartphone, but it can also be used to charge the headphones where a 5 minute charge should provide 4 hours of audio playback.

These are some pretty nifty features and if you’re interested, they will be available in a Black, Amber Sunrise, Emerald Green, or Moonlight Silver finish.
