Powerbeats Pro Will Be Available For Pre-Order May 3

Following the launch of the second-gen AirPods, it was rumored (and later confirmed) that Apple would be launching a Beats-version of the AirPods. The headphones in question is known as the Powerbeats Pro and if you are interested in the headphones, you will be pleased to learn that it will be available for pre-order starting next month.

The headphones will be available for purchase starting on the 3rd of May, where it is then expected to go on sale on the 10th of May where they will be sold for $250. They are more expensive compared to the AirPods, but the upside is that Beats headphones tend to have better sound profiles compared to the AirPods and are bassier, so if headphones with stronger lower-ends are your thing, this could be worth checking out.

Apart from the difference in design and sound signature, the Powerbeats Pro will be more or less similar to the AirPods in functionality. They will feature the same H1 chipset that is used in the AirPods, and will also offer longer battery life and physical playback controls. They are modeled after the Powerbeats3 Wireless and as you can see from the design, they are aimed at users with a more active lifestyle.

There will also be support for hands-free activation of Siri if you do use Apple’s digital assistant frequently.

Chrome Exploit Uses Fake Address Bar For Phishing

Phishing attacks come in many forms, such as URLs created to look similar to authentic websites, or emails that are seemingly legit. However, according to researcher James Fisher, he has discovered a new Chrome exploit that could let hackers create a very real-looking, but fake, address bar.

What this means is that with this fake address bar, it could be used to display the URL of a website, such as your bank, but the actual page in question belongs to someone else who might be trying to phish for your login credentials. As you can see in the screenshot above, the actual website in question belongs to Fisher, but the address bar display HSBC’s URL.

Now this fake address bar kind of goes away when you scroll up, but it seems that with a few tweaks, the hacker/attacker can actually make it so that the real address bar never reappears, thus giving you the impression that the website you’re browsing is legit. At the moment Google has yet to comment on the exploit and for the most part, this only seems to be affecting those who Chrome on mobile.

According to 9to5Google, one way to double-check if the website you’re visiting is legit is by locking and unlocking your phone again to force the real address bar to show. It’s a bit inconvenient, but we suppose it’s a whole sight better than having your credentials stolen.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Could Sport 4,500mAh Battery

While we’re sure many are more than happy to welcome fancy bleeding-edge tech in their smartphones, we also wish that companies would make more effort in improving on older tech as well, such as the battery on our smartphones where till this date, most of the time our phones don’t last for more than a day.

That being said, for those who might be considering the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 as their next smartphone of choice, the recent rumors have revealed that the phone could be packing a 4,500mAh battery. This is according to a photograph uploaded online that shows an alleged battery that the Note 10 is expected to use.

To give you some context as to how this battery size compares to other models, the Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+, and the S10 5G feature 3,400mAh, 4,100mAh, and 4,500mAh batteries respectively. This means that if the rumors are true, the Note 10’s battery will be on par with the 5G model of the Galaxy S10. It is also an improvement over last year’s Note 9 which featured a 4,000mAh battery.

There have also been rumors that suggests that the Note 10 could support 5G, so it is unclear if the battery mentioned was for the non-5G version or if the 5G version could feature an even larger battery to compensate for any potential battery drain.
