Do you love Jordan sneaker drops in the real world? Then you’re definitely going to love them in Fortnite. Epic’s massively popular battle royale title is receiving its very own sneaker drop from Jordan as part of a new themed event. Fortnite has been the host of many big themed events recently with movies like John Wick and Avengers: Endgame. It’s latest collaboration is with one of the biggest sportswear brands in the world.
The themed event comes to Fortnite ahead of the NBA Finals on May 30th so this is as good a time as any for an event like this in the game. It’s a bit different in function compared to the other themed events.
Epic has launched a new Creative “Downtown Drop” world in which players are required to “launch off massive jumps, grind down city streets and collect coins to win.” The impact of this themed event will be felt in Battle Royale, nonetheless, even though it has nothing to do with the game’s fight-to-the-death mechanics. Nike is going to promote its lucrative Jordan brand with in-game items based on the classic Air Jordan 1.
Players can take part in the Downtown Drop LTM which offers several free challenges as well to unlock new items. They can also spend their vBucks to purchase the Hang Time Bundle which includes a unique challenge pack and new outfits.
