This Is How Smooth The OnePlus 7 Pro’s 90Hz Screen Is

OnePlus recently launched their latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 7 Pro. One of the highlights of the handset is its 90Hz display, which while might not be as smooth as the Razer Phone’s 120Hz display, is still a step up above most of what the competition is offering in the market today.

To show off how smooth the display is, OnePlus shared a video on its Facebook page (you can check it out below) where it compared the display of the OnePlus 7 Pro to a “regular” smartphone (which presumably has a display with a refresh rate of 60Hz). Now, to the naked eye, you can see that the display is indeed slightly smoother while scrolling compared to a phone with a 60Hz display.

It might not be particularly obvious in day-to-day use, but it’s there. However, when slowed down in slow-mo mode, it becomes more obvious at how the faster refresh rate is considerably less choppy than the display with the 60Hz refresh rate. Is the display with the faster refresh rate a good enough reason for users to hop on board the OnePlus bandwagon?

Scrolling feels so much better in 90 HZ screen by OnePlus 7 Pro.

Perhaps, although we imagine that the phone’s more affordable price tag compared to other smartphones, high-end hardware, and its pretty impressive camera could be good reasons to get the handset as well.

Game Of Thrones Author Hints That The Book’s Ending Will Be Different From The Show

HBO’s Game of Thrones has finally come to an end after 9 long years, but the ending has left many with mixed feelings. Some have praised how the show has ended and thought it was a good wrap up, but others felt a bit cheated, and have point out how the final season felt very rushed as it had fewer episodes compared to previous seasons.

For those who are unsatisfied with how the show ended, there might be some redemption because in a post on his blog, the author of the series George R.R. Martin hinted that his ending could be different from the show. “How will it all end? I hear people asking.   The same ending as the show? Different? Well… yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes.”

According to Martin, he reminds readers and viewers that in the show, several characters and scenes did not make the cut, such as Lady Stoneheart, for example. This means that these characters could play a role in determining how things will play out in the books, which could have a different ending.

He adds, “I am working in a very different medium than David and Dan, never forget. They had six hours for this final season. I expect these last two books of mine will fill 3000 manuscript pages between them before I’m done… and if more pages and chapters and scenes are needed, I’ll add them.”

That being said, it was previously reported that Martin had told the Game of Thrones showrunners how he had envisioned his books would end. This means that what we saw in the final episode could either be a variant of Martin’s books, or it could be the complete opposite, but either way, fans will probably need to wait quite a long time before they find out.

Firefox 67 promises to be faster thanks to procrastination

Web browsers have become bigger than ever in more ways than one. Yes, they have become practically central to the way we use computers but they’ve also become more complex as they gain new features. Web pages, too, have become more complex and browsers have to adjust to support them. Complexity always has a cost, however, and most of that … Continue reading

Sony confirms diminished mobile presence in majority of markets

Up until now, we’ve only heard reports of Sony closing up shops in Southeast Asia and the Middle East to name a few markets. Traditionally, Sony has been pretty quiet about its mobile presence in regional markets and it seemed its secrecy will continue now that the business has been swallowed up by a larger Electronics Products & Solutions business. … Continue reading

Both Maisie Williams and Lena Headey Wanted Arya to Finish Her List

For years, Arya Stark was focused on one thing: killing every person on her death list. But it ended a couple of names short, as other people, old age, or falling rocks got to her intended targets first. However, Game of Thrones actors Maisie Williams and Lena Headey both agree that there was one name Arya should’ve…

Honor 20 Pro is just a few marks shy of being DxOMark’s best

Huawei is having a pretty bittersweet month. It just launched the Huawei P30 series last month but now faces a crisis thanks to a US ban that has at least been temporarily suspended. It’s sub-brand Honor launched its own 2019 flagship against that backdrop and the Honor 20 Pro just stole the third spot from the OnePlus 7 Pro on … Continue reading

Samsung 5x zoom camera is ready but probably not for Galaxy Note 10

First it was dual cameras. Then it was bokehs, a.k.a. portrait mode. These days, it seems that the battle over smartphone cameras is moving over to higher level of optical zoom that won’t force OEMs to bulk up their phones. Huawei has done it and so has OPPO so it’s really no surprise that Samsung, and soon even Apple, are … Continue reading
