Electric vehicle owners in California will now be able to charge their cars at select Chevron filling stations in the state. EVgo has announced that it has teamed up with Chevron to install fast chargers at the latter’s select filling stations in California. These fast chargers will be of up to 100kW capacity.
“EVgo is helping everyone — including traditional fueling stations — take advantage of the benefits of EV adoption,” EVgo CEO Cathy Zoi said. EVgo’s chargers can already be found at select Chevron stations in Menlo Park and they’re also being constructed at various locations in Los Angeles and the Bay Area.
These fast chargers will be able to provide electric vehicles with up to 90 miles of range in 30 minutes. They are compatible with every vehicle that accepts DC Fast Charging. It certainly makes sense to place them at conventional filling stations, particularly for highway drivers, since they can make their meal stops and bathroom breaks while their car gets charged up.
Why would the service station owners install the chargers on their property when these people won’t be purchasing any fuel? Given the increasing adoption of electric vehicles, they may decide to forego the easy cut on fuel sales and try to make that up by taking a cut on the electricity and selling snacks to customers.

You may have already heard about the plant-based Impossible Burger by now. Developed by Impossible Foods, this hamburger alternative is already part of Burger King’s Impossible Whopper. The company is now marketing another meat-less product. It’s a sausage which will be first sold by the Little Caesars pizza chain.
Little Caesars will be the first restaurant to sell Impossible Foods’ meat-less sausage. It will be available as a topping on the $12 Impossible Supreme Pizza. The chain is making this topping available today in 58 restaurants in Yakima, WA, Albuquerque, NM, Ft. Myers, FL and Naples, FL.
The meat-free sausage itself is developed with many of the same ingredients that were used for the burger. It uses the heme from soy plants to impart that meat flavor. The potato protein has been removed, though, to achieve a springy texture for the sausage.
It depends on the success of this pilot program if the meat-free sausage is to be made available to more Little Caesars locations across the country by the end of this year. Given that Burger King’s pilot for the meat-free burger did well, we may see a similar response from the market for this product. Burger King has confirmed that the Impossible Whopper will be available nationwide by the end of 2019.

HBO’s biggest TV show (Game of Thrones) may have ended yesterday but the premium cable network was quite to give viewers another reason to stick around. It has released a new trailer for the third season of yet another popular show, Westworld. Sure, it may not be quite the global phenomenon as Game of Thrones, but it’s surely one of HBO’s most successful shows.
HBO chiefs had confirmed earlier this year that the third season of Westworld won’t be out until 2020. It followed reports about the show not being released in 2019. Many thought that would happen as they felt HBO would want a marquee show for the year once Game of Thrones finishes.
That’s not going to be the case. HBO has confirmed that Westworld season 3 isn’t going to be released before 2020. The new trailer that it has released today reiterates that. Not much has been revealed about the story but we do see Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame making an appearance as he walks around what seems to be a very futuristic and very real city.
Evan Rachel Wood, a cast member since the first season, has an appearance in the trailer while Tessa Thompson will be returning to her role as well.
