PewDiePie Loses As Rival Channel Becomes First To Hit 100 Million Subscribers

PewDiePie was the YouTuber with the most amount of subscribers for the longest time and for the most part, he seemed set to become the first to hit 100 million subscribers. However, Bollywood music channel T-Series started catching up to him which started off the whole PewDiePie vs T-Series competition. While the former bowed out of the competition a couple of months ago after T-Series overtook him, it has now become the first channel to hit 100 million subscribers on YouTube globally.

YouTube itself tweeted congratulations of this momentous occasion to T-Series as it finally finished the race to 100 million subscribers. No other channel on YouTube has crossed this figure and it may just be a while now before that happens again.

It’s obviously a moment of pride for the channel to become the world’s first to hit 100 million subscribers even though having a substantial amount of followers is merely an arbitrary measure of the channel’s popularity.

Some of his fans argue that it will be more significant when PewDiePie eventually reaches the 100 million subscriber figure on YouTube considering the fact that he’s an individual creator while T-Series is a company. There may be some logic to this argument but that’s a debate for another day.

Microsoft Confirms Xbox Game Pass For PC

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service provides subscribers with access to a library of more than 100 games on Xbox consoles. Players can play these games to their heart’s content as long as they’re subscribed to the service. Many have been calling on Microsoft to bring this service to the PC as well and the company has obliged. Microsoft has confirmed Xbox Game Pass for PC today.

It’s essentially the same concept for PC as well. Subscribers will get access to a “curated library” of more than 100 PC games from many third-party developers such as Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda and Sega.

Xbox Game Pass for PC will give subscribers unlimited access to more than 100 games from well-known third-party developers. The company also said that it intends to include new first-party games from Xbox Game Studios in Xbox Game Pass for PC the day they’re released to the public. Subscribers will also receive discounts in the Microsoft Store on Windows of up to 20 percent on games currently in their library and up to 10 percent discount on related DLC and add-ons.

There are some details that Microsoft hasn’t confirmed at this point in time. For example, it hasn’t said how much Xbox Game Pass for PC is going to cost. It also hasn’t said whether you will be required to purchase separate subscriptions for Xbox Game Pass on both PC and console. The company says that it will talk more about this new service at its E3 2019 briefing next month.
