When Samsung sent out the Galaxy Fold to reviewers for review, it seems that they did not teach these reviewers how to handle the phone properly, leading to some of them damaging their devices. To Samsung’s credit, the company took responsibility for it and recalled those review units, vowing to make improvements so that they would be more durable.
The handset’s official public launch has since been delayed with no word on when the phones are expected to be ready for the public again. However, a report from the Yonhap News Agency has revealed some of the steps that Samsung has taken to improve upon the build of the handset, and are also claiming that the phone is now expected to be released in June.
One of the changes Samsung made was to tuck the protective layer of the screen into the display of the phone. This was one of the issues that reviewers ran into where they thought it was a screen protector that could be removed. Samsung is also said to have made the gap between the top and bottom parts of the hinge smaller, thus preventing larger bits of dust and debris from getting caught in between which could lead to further damage.
The testing of the new build is said to be underway with carriers in South Korea, and that the company will most likely announce a new release date for the handset later this month.

Instagram has a direct messaging feature built into its app, also known as Direct. For some reason, the company decided that it was a good idea to launch a dedicated and standalone version of the feature which resulted in app known as Direct. Turns out that maybe it was not as popular as Instagram would have liked because it looks like they’re killing it off.
In a tweet by Matt Navarra, he has shared some screenshots that users are seeing in the Direct app, where they are now being notified that the app is expected to be shut down in the coming months. This means that if you’re using the app to handle your Instagram messages, then you might want to start getting used to using Instagram again.
Confirmed: Instagram is killing its standalone Direct Messaging app pic.twitter.com/owt2gXtfCE
— Matt Navarra (@MattNavarra) May 16, 2019
According to the notification, Instagram claims that all the messages in the Direct app will simply be moved over to Instagram and that no action will be required on your part. This means that you can simply open Instagram and start chatting with your friends without skipping a beat. There is no word on when the app is expected to officially shut down, but the fact that these messages are making their rounds, it probably will be soon, so time to start migrating if you haven’t done so already.

Last year, Google launched the Titan security key. For those who are unfamiliar with the gadget, it is a security key that helps authenticate the user to whichever device it is plugged into or connected to. The idea is that by leaving it connected to a device like a computer, in theory, you would never need to have to enter a password again.
Google had previously boasted how its Titan security key used by its employees allowed them to avoid any kind of phishing attempts, but it seems that some Titan keys might not be as secure. In a post on Google’s Security Blog, the company announced that they will be recalling and replacing some of the Titan keys bought by some of their customers.
This is due to a Bluetooth vulnerability which would, in theory, allow a hacker to connect to the device. However, before you get too panicked, we should note that not all Titan keys are affected by this, and that it only affects Bluetooth pairing only. Also, as Google points out, the attack isn’t quite as easy to pull off and it would require the attacker to be in the same room as you and within 30 feet of the device.
The attack would also need to align a series of events in close coordination to pull it off, meaning that it isn’t quite as simple of an attack that some might be concerned about. Regardless, a flaw is still a flaw and as we said, Google will be sending out replacements to those who have been affected. To find out if your Titan key is affected and if it is eligible for a replacement, head on over to Google’s blog.
