ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo Manages To Squeeze In A Secondary 4K Display

The overall design of laptops hasn’t really changed that much over the decades since they’ve been around. For the most part, they’re clamshell devices that features a screen on one end, and a keyboard on the other. However, it seems that ASUS is hoping to turn the industry on its head with the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo.

This is because not only does this laptop feature a 4K main display, but the company has also managed to squeeze a secondary 4K display which sits just above the keyboard area. Both of these displays are touch-sensitive, meaning that you can interact with them using your finger or a device like a stylus.

Judging from the images, ASUS is definitely aiming this laptop at creative professionals who might appreciate having a touch-sensitive surface to edit their photos or videos on. In terms of specs, ASUS will allow configurations of up to an Intel Core i9-9980HK processor, as much sa 32GB of RAM, and it will also come with a NVIDIA GForce RTX2060 GPU with 6GB of VRAM.

There is no mention of pricing just yet, but judging by its specs, we doubt that it will come cheap. It is also currently slated for a release in Q3 2019. We should note that ASUS is not the first to come up with the idea of a secondary display in a laptop. A couple of years ago, Razer showed off Project Valerie, a laptop concept which came with a triple display setup.

WHO Adds ‘Gaming Disorder’ To The International Classification Of Diseases

Too much of anything is bad, and this is applicable to gaming where in the past, we’ve seen how some people are so obsessed with their games that they react violently when they lose, or how they end up neglecting their babies because they’re too engrossed in their games. We’ve even seen how some gamers have actually died because they would rather play their games than take care of themselves.

This has led to the World Health Organization (WHO) to consider adding “gaming disorder” to its list of mental health problems. Now it seems that after a year or so of consideration, the WHO has voted to recognize “gaming disorder” as a health condition. Based on the WHO’s categorization, it claims that those who have impaired control over gaming, or who give increasing priority to their games, or who continue to game despite negative consequences could be considered to have a “gaming disorder”.

Now, in the past, there have been some who have disagreed with the WHO’s classification of “gaming disorder”, where they have disagreed with how it was defined. For example, some organizations such as the UK’s Ukie and the US’s Entertainment Software Association have called upon the WHO to “rethink their decision”, where they have said that there are benefits to gaming. While there is no doubt about that, as we said, too much of anything is probably not a good idea.

Google Maps Speed Camera Alerts Are Rolling Out To More Countries

We should definitely be obeying the laws of the road all the time, but sometimes, we get it, it can’t be helped where an open road with no cars makes it very tempting to put pedal to the metal. Unfortunately, speed cameras are the bane of many a fast driver out there, but Google Maps has tried to solve this problem with speed camera alerts.

The feature has rolled out to some countries but according to Android Police, it has been reported that the speed camera alert feature is now rolling out to even more countries than before. Some users living in Denmark, Poland, and the UK are reporting that the feature is now live for them.

This is in addition to countries such as Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, the UK, and the US.

It is interesting that it is being integrated this late because ever since Google acquired Waze, we thought that the company would want to integrate Waze’s tech into its app, but for the most part, both apps have continued to remain separate. However, in more recent times, Google has been introducing some Waze-like features to Maps, such as traffic slowdown reporting.

Domino’s Turns To Tech To Improve On Your Pizza

How often have we looked at a menu to place our order, only to be disappointed when the order looks nothing like the photos? We’re sure this has happened to many of us over the years, and to be fair, most of the time menu photos are designed to look better, but that’s the kind of discrepancy that Domino’s is hoping to avoid.

The company has turned to technology to improve on the quality and visual appeal of its pizzas. This is done by using a camera system that has the ability to grade individual pizzas based on predetermined qualities. For example, it will be able to tell if a pizza’s toppings are sufficient and if they’re spread out properly, and if the amount of cheese is enough as well.

This tech has been employed by Domino’s over in Australia and New Zealand, where according to Nick Knight, the company’s CEO for that region, it has shown very positive results. “So far, it’s analysed more than one million pizzas, and there is a lot of learning that we’ve captured. It’s early days, but I’m really pleased with what we’re seeing. Team members are using this technology to put a much needed extra focus on product quality.”

It is unclear if Domino’s has plans to roll out the tech across other countries that it operates in, but it does sound like a useful tool to help eliminate the problem of inconsistent pizza.

World’s First Digital-Only Clothing Has Sold For $9,500

For some, fashion has remained quite an enigma where there are certain trends and designs that can be questionable. If you don’t really get fashion, then prepare to be even more confused because it seems that the world’s first digital-only clothing has been sold for a whopping $9,500, and no, this is not an in-game item or a cosmetic used in games, but actual fashion.

Created by digital fashion startup The Fabricant with with artist Johanna Jaskowska and Dapper Labs, this piece of “clothing” is dubbed “Iridescence” and is only available in digital form. This means that you can’t touch it, you can’t wear it, and you can’t even see it in real life. To top it off, it exists in blockchain format as well, making it a strange hybrid of fashion and cryptocurrency.

As to why anyone would pay that much for a digital design? This was because the topic of conscious consumption was brought up with regards to  fashion, where digital fashion would help promote sustainability. The dress is designed using 2D garment cutting pattern software and 3D design software to help create a realistic look.

It is also “tailored” for the wearer, where a supplied photograph will help the creators model the dress based on the wearer’s looks and dimensions. This is no doubt an intriguing idea and for some wondering who would pay this much for something that only exists in digital form, you only need to take a look at some of the more popular video games today where skins and costumes are being sold for real-life money, some at pretty ridiculous prices themselves.

Spotify For Android Now Has A Sleep Timer

If you’re the type of person who loves falling asleep to music, you might be interested to learn that after years, Spotify for Android has finally been updated where it now comes with a built-in sleep timer. This feature is pretty straightforward as its name suggests, where Android users can now set a sleep timer which will stop the music playback once the timer is up.

As we said, this feature seems to have been a long time coming. This is because the iOS version of Spotify already has the feature, so it is unclear why it took Spotify this long to introduce it to Android. Previously, Android users had to turn to third-party apps in order to achieve a similar effect, but naturally having a native built-in function is always much preferred, especially since it will work right out of the door.

The feature is accessible from the overflow menu and users can choose to stop music playback after the current song ends, or after 5 minutes, or up to an hour. This will be useful if you like falling asleep to music but don’t want to keep the music playback going when you’re already sleeping or if you’d rather not disturb others if you’re using it with a speaker. The updated Spotify should already be available for download so head on over to the Play Store to get your hands on the latest version of the app.
