Domino’s Pizza Delivery Will Soon Be Trackable With GPS

Domino’s has a habit of leveraging technology to improve its service for customers. This is why the company has worked on everything from pizza delivery robots to self-driving cars and cashless stores. Domino’s is now launching GPS tracking for deliveries so that customers can see precisely where their pizza is. It’s like keeping an eye on your Uber, only, in this case, it’s going to be your dinner.

The company said that it will bring GPS tracking for delivery orders at all of its U.S. stores by the end of this year. This has actually been possible for overseas customers for quite some time now and will finally be available to customers in the United States.

This will enable customers to keep an eye on their pizza as it leaves the restaurant and they’ll be able to see just when the delivery person will reach their doorstep. This will certainly make the entire experience better.

While this will be very useful for customers, Domino’s CEO Ritch Allison also pointed out that he’s “more excited” about the data that franchise operators will be able to get from GPS tracking as this will allow them to make the delivery process at their restaurants more efficient.

Tesla’s ‘Full Self-Driving’ Option Cost Being Increased By $1,000

Tesla has long touted technology which will enable its vehicles to drive on their own, regulations permitting. Customers are required to pay extra for this option and those who are considering this for their next Tesla purchase should now keep in mind that the price of the full self-driving option is being increased. This is the second time in a few months that Tesla has increased the price of a feature that’s not fully functional at this point in time.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted out that the cost of Tesla’s full self-driving option is going to increase by $1,000 on August 16th. The feature, which Musk promises will one day enable Teslas to drive on their own completely, currently costs $6,000.

Musk did say previously that the cost of full self-driving will go up “substantially over time.” It was back on May 1st this year when the price for this option was raised from $5,000 to $6,000. Musk had said that the total increase would be in the $3000+ range so it’s possible that there may be one additional price hike after this one.

He reminded his Twitter followers that this had been communicated earlier and that customers who buy the option earlier will obviously have the benefit of paying a little less for it.
