If you buy a Logitech wireless keyboard or mouse, it comes with a wireless USB receiver that lets you connect your device to your computer, which comes in handy if your computer does not support Bluetooth. We probably don’t give the dongle too much thought, but it seems that you definitely should.
This is because according to a report from The Verge, Logitech’s wireless dongles are being shipped with a vulnerability that could make them susceptible to a hack. This is not new as it was an issue that was reported back in 2016 where it was known as “MouseJack”. Logitech had issued a patch to fix it, but The Verge has discovered that even today’s Logitech products are still being shipped with a dongle that has yet to be patched.
It should be noted that Logitech’s products aren’t the only ones potentially affected by this security flaw, and that other wireless products from the likes of Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Microsoft that use the same chipsets and firmware are susceptible too. The upside is that Logitech allows users to update the firmware, which is a good thing.
If you do own a Logitech wireless product that relies on the dongle, then head on over to Logitech’s website where you can download the patch that should address the issue, and yes, this also applies to those who might have recently bought a Logitech product.

Scotland’s Wind Turbines Have Generated Enough Energy To Power Homes Twice Over

The resources in our world are not infinite and as such, there will come a day when we run out of some of them, especially if we insist on using resources such as coal to power our power plants. This is why many are starting to look at more sustainable solutions, such as solar, hydro, or wind.
In fact, Scotland seems to be a prime example of how efficient wind energy is because according to reports, Scotland’s wind turbines have actually managed to generate enough energy where it is capable of powering its homes twice over. This is according to WWF Scotland who revealed that the wind turbines in the country generated a staggering 9,831,320 megawatt hours.
According to Robin Parker, climate and energy policy manager at WWF Scotland, “Up and down the country, we are all benefiting from cleaner energy and so is the climate. “These figures show harnessing Scotland’s plentiful onshore wind potential can provide clean, green electricity for millions of homes across not only Scotland, but England as well.”
The government is hoping that by 2030, their wind turbines will be able to make up for half of their energy consumptions, with a goal to ultimately “almost completely” decarbonize their energy system by 2050.

If you grew up watching the Transformers franchise, you might have watched the very first animated movie which featured the planet transformer Unicron. If you thought that it would be awesome if they made Unicron into a toy, you’re in luck because Hasbro has since announced that they will be crowdfunding a Unicron Transformer toy.
What makes this particular model different is that it will be a massive undertaking, where it is expected to measure about 2 feet tall and will have over 50 points of articulation. According to Hasbro, “He converts into a terrifying planet mode that will be a stunning 30-inches (762.0 mm) in diameter. The planet mode features the iconic planet-eating jaws, geared to open so Unicron can devour unassuming worlds. The planet mode also features a series of posable planetary rings.”
The toy is launched on Hasbro’s crowdfunding platform, HasLab, where it is commanding the price of $574.99. It is by no means a cheap toy, but given its size and also how it seems to be pretty accurate to what we remember from the movie, it definitely is a toy that is worth collecting. Backers have until the end of August, 2019 to pledge their payments, with the toy estimated to begin shipping out to customers in early 2021.
