Space exploration missions and rocket launches may be exciting but they’re also terribly expensive. Companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin are in a race to make launching spacecraft cheaper by reusing rockets but that’s just one aspect of the whole business. Assembling spaceships themselves takes up not just time and money but also space. One possible solution would be to … Continue reading

Most attempts at giving robots muscles tend to be heavy, slow or both. Scientists might finally have a solution that’s both light and nimble, though. They’ve developed fibers that can serve as artificial muscles for robots while remaining light, re…
If there was ever a company to watch out for this year, it would be Disney. The company has not only acquired Fox, but they have also obtained full control of Hulu, another video streaming service. Unsurprisingly, the company has been making moves to bring everything under their umbrella, and the latest casualty in this strategy is none other than FX Plus.
It has been announced that starting from the 20th of August, 2019, FX Plus will no longer be available. It was previously launched under Comcast where it gave users access to a bunch of shows under the FX banner ad-free for just $5.99 a month. Current seasons of these shows are still expected to continue to air on FX and FXX.
In a statement made by FX Networks, “We deeply appreciate every fan of FX original series who subscribed to our service, and we are more optimistic and excited than ever about FX’s future as a key brand supporting the strategic priorities of The Walt Disney Company.” Disney is expected to eventually distribute FX programming through Hulu, which is why they are shutting the service down.
The good news is that for those who don’t live in the US and want access to these shows, Disney had previously stated that they plan on bringing Hulu to international markets. When exactly that will be remains to be seen.

Samsung has been working on foldable displays for a while now, and last we checked, the company is expected to launch its first commercially available foldable smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Fold. The handset has since been delayed from its launch, but it seems that in the meantime, the company is coming up with new ideas on how to use its foldable tech, although not in the way you might think.
According to a recently-discovered patent, it seems that Samsung is toying around with the idea of creating a pair of foldable augmented reality-based glasses. For the most part, the design of the glasses looks like any regular pair of glasses, but it is expected to be a foldable pair of glasses where when it is unfolded, it would automatically switch on.
This means that in theory, you could fold it up into a smaller footprint for storage, so if you don’t want to wear it all the time, you could fold it up, put it into a box or your pocket until you’re ready. The patent also describes how the glasses will pack a projector that is mounted onto the temple. This projector would be used to beam images to the wearer’s field of view.
Samsung has dabbled in wearables before like with the Gear VR, but if this patent ever becomes a reality, it could be their first smart glasses. Apple has also been rumored to be working on something similar in the past, although recently the company has been reported to have hit the pause button on their project.

As many Windows users are aware, Microsoft bundles a handful of games with its Windows operating system. This has been a staple feature over the past decade or so of Windows releases, but it seems that Microsoft has ultimately decided that they will be retiring some of them.
To be more specific, the company has confirmed that they will be shutting down their internet games on Windows. This includes titles such as Backgammon, Checkers, Hearts, Reversi, Spades, and MSN Go. This will cover all versions of Windows, starting with Windows XP and Windows ME where these games will no longer be accessible come 31st of July, 2019.
This will be followed by Windows 7 users were they’ll lose access come 22nd January, 2020. According to Microsoft, “It is with heavy hearts that we have made the difficult decision. However, the time has come for us, along with our hardware and software partners, to invest our resources towards more recent technologies.”
That being said, we have to wonder exactly how many people will actually miss these games. While those games are fun, there are plenty of other games out there to choose from, but if you’ve ever grown up playing games like Hearts, then this could be something you might miss.
