The Galaxy Note 10 has been leaked to death by now, but one thing that was left undecided was its launch date and price. Samsung has already announced when the phone will be unveiled but, as always, the exact details of when it would hit shelves have yet to be revealed. With less than a month left, that information is … Continue reading
USB-C brought a lot of functionality and convenience in a single port but it also brought a bit of confusion. Not all USB ports and accessories are created equal and, just like in the old USB-A and micro USB world, some accessories are for single uses only. Some computers these days, however, may have only one USB-C port for data … Continue reading

One of the features of the Apple Watch is its SOS feature in which users will be able to use it to call for help. It seems that this feature has managed to help save the life of a man who following a jet ski accident, could have potentially drowned had he not turned to the Apple Watch’s SOS feature.
According to a report from WBMM, Phillip Esho, the man in question, was riding a jet ski on Lake Michigan when a wave flipped him and his jet ski over. The waves were particularly strong which kept knocking him under the water despite the fact that he wore a floatation device. His phone was also lost in the water after he was knocked over.
This meant that he could not call for help, at least that was until he remembered that his Apple Watch had an SOS feature that could call emergency services. According to Esho, he says that he’s not sure what would have happened to him had he not been able to use his Apple Watch to call for help.
While we have heard stories of the Apple Watch’s ECG and heart rate monitor saving the lives of its users by alerting them to impending health issues, we have also heard about instances in which the Apple Watch, especially the LTE model that can make calls, help save lives by letting them call for help when their phones aren’t with them.

Updates are usually viewed as a good thing where they bring about improvements, new features, and also fix bugs. However, they have also been known to cause problems from time to time, where the application of an update might cause problems that the developer might not have picked up on.
That is the case with the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+ devices in which according to a variety of user reports, the latest update to the phone seems to have crippled some handsets. The reports are claiming that following the update, users are being prompted to enter a password to access their device.
This is despite the fact that some users did not even setup a password on their phones to begin with. So far, there doesn’t seem to be a fix for it and according to some users, they were advised by their carriers that the best course of action was to factory reset their phones. So far, this only seems to have affected Samsung Galaxy S10 handsets in the US, so it is unclear if other Galaxy S10 users around the world have run into similar problems.
At this time of writing, there doesn’t appear to be a fix yet, but hopefully Samsung is aware of the problem and are working on a new update that will address the issue. In the meantime, it really looks like the only way to get around it would be to factory reset, or boot your phone into Safe Mode and maybe see if you can roll back the update.

We have heard instances of iPhones exploding and catching on fire. They don’t happen quite as often (thankfully), but it does happen. Recently, a report from 23ABC News has revealed that over in California, an iPhone 6 reportedly caught on fire while being held in the hands of an 11-year old girl.
However, the good news is that the girl, Kayla Ramos, was not hurt and no one else in the area was injured either. Instead, it seems that the only damage was to a blanket. According to Ramos, “I had my phone in my hand and then I saw sparks flying everywhere and I just threw it on a blanket.”
It is unclear as to why the handset caught on fire, but apparently Apple has since reached out to Ramos and has offered a replacement and also asked to see the device, presumably to see what was wrong and what could have caused it to catch on fire. We have heard of such issues in the past, although this was usually associated to unauthorized third-party cables and chargers.
It could have also been damage made to the battery, where lithium-ion batteries have been known to swell and explode, causing fires, if they are damaged from either being dropped or punctured.
