As far as in-room amenities go, a full-size Boeing 737-800 flight simulator is pretty rare, unless you’re staying at the Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu in Tokyo, Japan. The hotel is connected to Terminal 2 of Haneda International Airport and it now offers a room called “Superior Cockpit Room” which, as previously mentioned, has a proper Boeing 737-800 flight simulator installed in the room.
The hotel offers various packages for experiencing the simulator. You could just book it for 90 minutes with an instructor for 30,000 yen or about $275. The instructor will guide you through the experience of flying from Haneda to Osaka International Airport.
You can also rent the entire room for 25,300 yen per night but that would obviously be without the instructor. You’ll be free to toy around with the simulator as you please. Since the actual runway of Haneda airport can be seen from the rooms, you can also enjoy a bit of plane spotting from the comfort of your own hotel room.
Hotels pride themselves on offering unique experiences to their customers. This is right up there with some of the most fun you can have in a hotel room, that’s if you’re an aviation geek, so one can imagine that the Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu may not be short of bookings for this particular room.

Bentley has revealed its EXP 100 GT concept car which is meant to mark the 100 year milestone for this iconic company. It envisages the future of grand touring with this vehicle which looks very futuristic and also boasts some very futuristic features such as an artificial intelligence-powered butler.
The low-slung GT has a striking design with plenty of carbon fiber and aluminum going around. The headlights have an interesting design element as they appear to just blend in with the massive front grill.
The interior looks no less futuristic than the interior with premium materials such as 5,000 year old copper-infused Riverwood. All of the materials in the car are meant to create a sustainable yet luxurious future, says Bentley. You can’t expect a car of the future to run on something as primitive as gasoline. It’s obviously an electric vehicle with a claimed range of 435 miles on a single charge. Bentley also says that it can charge from zero to 80 percent in just 15 minutes.
The AI-powered butler called Bentley Personal Assistant is a very useful addition. It will be able to take care of tasks such as charging the car, adjusting seats, switching between modes for passengers, and curating the experience for each passenger based on their biometric information and the overall environmental conditions.
Since this is a concept car much of the claims would obviously never be put to the test. It’s interesting to see, nevertheless, how Bentley envisages the future of motoring. It looks quite good to me.

Some of you may remember the JBL Link Bar, the company’s Android-powered soundbar which was first unveiled at the Google I/O conference last year. It has been a very long wait for this product but it’s finally available for purchase. The Link Bar is a soundbar, smart speaker, and Android TV set-top box hybrid that costs $400.
Given how it tries to be the jack of all trades, you can imagine that quite a few people wanted to buy it since it offered them the best of all worlds, essentially. However, they have had to wait for a year before finally being able to buy it.
According to AndroidPolice, the JBL Link Bar is now listed as “available to ship” in the JBL U.S. store. The company’s UK store mentions that the product will be in stock by July 18th. When the Link Bar was originally announced, Google had said that it would arrive by the summer of 2018. It didn’t. JBL only followed up with more news in January this year when it said that the device is going to be released in spring.
It then ended up pushing the release back by another month and now here we are in the first half of July. It’s unclear why customers have been made to wait for so long but many will just be grateful that it’s finally here.
