Samsung’s flagships achieve high scores on DxOMark but have so far failed to steal the top spot from Huawei. One of the reasons for falling short of becoming Number 1 is its average performance in low light, especially night-time, photography. Samsung heeded the call of the market and started rolling out a dedicated Night Mode not only to the Galaxy … Continue reading
Katee Sackhoff Attempts to Save Humanity in the Trailer for Netflix's Another Life
Posted in: Today's ChiliAfter years of watching her as Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica, there’s just something that feels right about seeing Katee Sackhoff in a spaceship, heading off to save humanity. She’s done it before and now she’ll do it again, albeit in a whole new way, in Netflix’s Another Life.

Ever since Apple introduced the MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar, it was largely assumed that the company would eventually transition its entire MacBook Pro to Touch Bar. However, for a few years, Apple kept a non-Touch Bar version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro around as a cheaper and more affordable alternative.
When you consider the fact that many people don’t seem to particularly love the Touch Bar, it made a lot of sense that users would prefer to save money and get that model instead. Unfortunately, it looks like Apple has decided to do away with it. The company has announced an updated lineup of MacBook Pros and with it, they have effectively killed off the non-Touch Bar version of the laptop.
The laptop has been updated with Intel’s 8th-gen processors and also has its price lowered, where it will now cost $1,199 for college students. The non-Touch Bar version of the MacBook Pro is not the only MacBook that Apple has killed off today. As part of the company’s refresh, they have also eliminated some of their previous laptop models.
This includes the 12-inch Retina MacBook and also the previous-gen MacBook Air that did not come with Touch ID. This means that if you’re looking for those lower-end laptops, you’d be out of luck.

As many of you have heard by now, all of Marvel’s Netflix shows have been pulled from the streaming platform. If you love the props that were used in the shows, then you’ll be pleased to learn that Marvel plans on holding an auction in which some of the props in the shows will be auctioned off.
This includes costumes and props from shows such as Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, such as Daredevil’s various suits, a bullet hole-riddled hoodie from Luke Cage, and also Iron Fist’s mask. Safe to say that these items will not be in pristine condition due to the fact that they were used during the filming process, but it could still be a good way of commemorating their run.
There is no word on how much these props and costumes are expected to cost, but based on the estimates, it could be pretty expensive. For example, the first-generation Daredevil costume has been estimated to fetch as much as $30,000 to $50,000, but the final number could be different based on how much people are willing to pay for it.
As we said, we have no idea why Marvel and Netflix decided to cancel their shows. It has been speculated that due to a clause in the contract that Marvel can’t use the characters for their own shows for at least two years following the cancellation, it could be that Marvel simply wanted to get the ball rolling as soon as possible.

Thanks to the wide available of commercial drones, it has become incredibly easy for amateur filmmakers to use drones to film aerial and cinematic shots. However, if you’re looking to take your drone videography to the next level, Moment might have a new lens that you could be interested in.
For those who are unfamiliar, Moment is an accessory maker who were initially known for creating high-quality camera lenses for the iPhone, although it looks like the company has since expanded into creating lenses for drones. The company has launched an anamorphic lens designed for drones, or more specifically, the DJI Mavic Pro and the Zoom.
Now, in case you’re wondering what is an anamorphic lens, this is basically a lens designed to help give your videos that wide, cinematic feel. It features a horizontal curve that will allow more of the scene to be squeezed into the frame, and also helps create that black bar look that you can sometimes expect to see from movies, along with horizontal flares. You can actually check out an example of footage shot with and without the anamorphic lens in the video below.
The company has taken to Kickstarter to try and raise funds for the lens, so if you are interested, you can head over to pledge your support. Alternatively, for smartphone owners who want the same effect, Moment is also selling a smartphone-supported anamorphic lens on its website.
