Ryan Reynolds Teases (Trolls) That Deadpool 3 Could Be Part Of Phase 5 Of The MCU

Apart from Marvel’s own series of movies, Deadpool was one of the few non-Marvel owned movies that did exceptionally well, especially considering that it was an R-rated movie which meant that it limited the scope of its audience. Now that Disney owns Fox, and thus Deadpool, we’re sure many are wondering how Deadpool will fit into the MCU.

Will it continue the existing storyline? Will it be rebooted? There are definitely some complications, such as how Thanos and Cable were both played by Josh Brolin, something that was allowed given that they were of different cinematic universes. However, we could find out in the next few years because in a post on Instagram, actor Ryan Reynolds teased that Deadpool 3 could arrive in Phase 5 of the MCU.

Now, there is no way to confirm if this is true, but when asked about Deadpool 3 at Comic-Con 2019, Marvel’s Kevin Feige confirmed that Deadpool will be part of Marvel’s mutant series of movies which could possibly be part of Phase 5. The company did confirm a slew of movies for Phase 4, none of which are X-Men or Fantastic Four related, so it stands to reason that could arrive in the next phase.

How exactly they plan on tying it all together remains to be seen as it does seem like quite a massive undertaking, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

16-Year Old Teen Just Made Bank By Winning $3 Million In Fortnite Championship

Back in the earlier days of computer games, the narrative would be that playing sports was “cool” while video games were seen as something that was nerdy and had no future. However, fast forward to today, and that narrative has changed massively. Take Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, a 16-year old teen who took home a cool $3 million and the title in the first ever Fortnite World Cup championship.

This is no doubt a huge sum of money and just goes to show how big the world of eSports has become, where there is enough interest for such huge prize pools to be created. The prize pool for the Fortnite World Cup match was at $30 million, which by the way matches the FIFA Women’s World Cup, a more traditional sports championship.

As Engadget points out, Giersdorf took home more money than what some famous athletes did when they won their respective games, such as golf legend Tiger Woods who earned $2.07 million with his 15th major title. Epic’s Fortnite seems to be on track to have one of the largest prize pools for gaming tournaments, although Valve’s Dota 2 “The International” is still very much in the lead for that, where winning teams have taken home cash prizes as much as $11.2 million.

We’ve also seen how some educational institutions are acknowledging being good at video games is a skill worthy of a scholarship, to the point where we’re actually seeing parents hire tutors to help their kids improve in Fortnite.

Google Has Been Paying People On The Streets $5 To Scan Their Faces For The Pixel 4

It seems that with the upcoming Google Pixel 4, the company has adopted a slightly different strategy versus its previous releases. For example, it was back in June that Google kind of confirmed the design of the handset, and just earlier today, Google confirmed some features that we can expect from the phone.

This includes a new Motion Sense feature as well as an upgraded version of Face Unlock. Speaking of Face Unlock, to help get it to work as they intended, it seems that Google has taken to good old fashion street surveys to get it done. In a report from The Verge, Google has confirmed that they have been going around the streets in various American cities where they are paying people $5 to have their faces scanned.

According to Google, they claim that the purpose of these scans was to improve on the algorithms for facial unlocking, where presumably the improved algorithms will help make it more accurate and fast and also be able to recognize a variety of faces of people from different ethnicities.

In a statement made to The Verge in an email, a Google spokesperson said, “Our goal is to build the feature with robust security and performance. We’re also building it with inclusiveness in mind, so as many people as possible can benefit.” The Google Pixel 4 still does not have a launch date yet, but last we heard, it could possibly arrive in October.

Google And Huawei Were Working On A Smart Speaker Together

Google has a couple of smart speakers under its belt in the form of the Google Home series. However, it seems that Google had another smart speaker in the works that they were allegedly developing together with Huawei, but it seems that those plans have since been scrapped following Huawei being placed on the US Entity List.

This is according to a report from The Information (paywall), it claims that both Google and Huawei were developing the smart speaker together for at least a year, where it would have been powered by Google Assistant. It’s not surprising that both companies were working together, especially since they both have a close relationship with each other.

In the past, Huawei and Google have worked together on other products, like the Nexus 6P smartphone. It is unclear as to what kind of features this smart speaker would have and how it would have been different from other smart speakers. However, since it has been cancelled, it looks like we will never know.

The report goes on to add that both companies were also working together on how to make Huawei smartphones compatible with Android Auto. In the meantime, Huawei has managed to get themselves out of trouble (sort of) where US companies are allowed to do business with them again.
