CD Projekt RED Isn’t Working On Three Cyberpunk 2077 Projects

It may have seemed odd but a report earlier this week claimed that CD Projekt RED was working on three separate Cyberpunk 2077 projects which include the game that is due for the PC and consoles later this year. The company has now clarified the misunderstanding and confirmed that it’s not working on three separate projects.

A representative for CD Projekt Red confirmed to GameSpot that there are no three different Cyberpunk 2077 projects, rather three different studios who are working on the game. The rep added that a total of five teams are working on this project with three focused on developing Cyberpunk 2077.

These include CD Projekt Red Warsaw and Kraków who are in charge of the main game while the Wrocław has 40 industry specialists working on technology research and development. There’s also a separate and dedicated team at the Warsaw studio working on the development of Gwent. Spokko is the final team that’s working on a new mobile project that’s yet to be announced.

So it appears that a slight misunderstanding is what caused the frenzy about there being three different Cyberpunk 2077 projects. That’s just not the case. The reality is that there are three different studios that are working on the game that was announced amid much fanfare at E3 this year.

California Allows Waymo To Pick Up Passengers In Self-Driving Cars

The California Public Utilities Commission has awarded Waymo a permit to take part in the state’s self-driving vehicle passenger service pilot program. This means that Waymo will be able to pick up passengers with its self-driving cars. However, Waymo may not charge drivers during this pilot program and there must always be a human safety driver behind the wheel.

As part of this pilot program, it will only be giving rides to company employees and their guests in a limited service area in the South Bay. This includes the neighborhoods of Mountain View, Los Altos, Sunnyvale, Los Altos Hills, and Palo Alto.

Waymo isn’t actually the first company to participate in this program, it’s the fourth. Autox Technologies, Zoox, and Pony.ai have all received similar permits. The permit is valid for three years but isn’t similar to California’s self-driving vehicle testing program. The California DMV has given permits to more than 60 companies to test their self-driving cars in the state.

With the latest permit, Waymo is that much closer to launching a robot taxi service in its own state. However, Waymo says that it doesn’t have a timetable to launch a commercial taxi service in California just yet. It did so in select areas of Phoenix, Arizona last year with Waymo One.

VW trained AIs to design better 3D printed car parts

Car design may still be led by the heart, not the head, but VW is experimenting with artificial intelligence that could dramatically change how components are made, even growing them using cutting-edge 3D printing. The technology could help significantly lower weight, as well as give automakers greater flexibility in designing unusual parts for future models. It’s the handiwork of the … Continue reading
