Facebook’s TV Video Chat Camera May Also Bring Major Streaming Services

It was first reported last year that Facebook is working on a new Portal-like device which will hook up to a TV and allow you to make video calls using its platform. The reports had also mentioned that this device may enable users to access Facebook Watch on their TV as well. A new report mentions that this device may serve as a set-top box of sorts by enabling users to access other major streaming services as well.

The Information reports that Facebook has approached Disney, Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and Amazon to talk about bringing their video services to its device. Facebook apparently views this as a big selling point for the camera since the device will then be able to serve a wider purpose than just enabling users to make video calls over Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.

This won’t exactly be a first for Facebook. The company did confirm at its F8 developer conference in April this year that its Portal devices will soon be able to stream content from Amazon Prime Video. It also brought news channels and YouTube to the device in December.

Facebook hasn’t said much itself about this new device but if the reports are any indication, the company is looking to launch this new video chat device by October this year.

NBA Live 20 Release Date Has Been Delayed

EA Sports hasn’t really said much about NBA Live 20. There was speculation that the title could even be canceled since it didn’t make an appearance during EA Play. However, it turns out that the publisher has merely decided to delay the NBA Live 20 release date to later this year.

EA released a financial report yesterday which mentioned that the upcoming basketball game is now slated to be released in the third fiscal quarter of this year. What that means is that the game is now going to be released between October 1st and December 31st, 2019.

The publisher was initially expected to release the game during the second fiscal quarter of this year. September was the likely month in which it would have released NBA Live 20 since last year’s title, NBA Live 19, was also released in the same month.

It has clarified that some changes are being made to the game which is why its release has been delayed. We’re planning a different approach to NBA Live this year, and will have more to share in the quarter ahead,” a representative for the company told Polygon. At least fans of this title can now rest assured that it’s not going to be canceled, it’s just going to come out a little later than it was initially expected.

Google Assistant Is Now Available On Dish Hopper Receivers

The Google Assistant is already available on a wide variety of devices and it can help you get a lot of stuff done with just your voice commands. Add surfing through the list of TV shows or movies to that as well. The Google Assistant is now available on the Dish Hopper family of receivers. It will enable users to find their content faster using nothing but voice commands.

The Google Assistant can be accessed on the Hopper receivers through the new Dish voice remote. With this remote and Assistant, users will be able to use voice commands to search for content based on title, channel, actor or genre. They’ll also be able to access all of the Assistant’s other functionalities.

It can even be used to control content playback on the receiver. Simply press the mic button on the voice remote and give it commands like “Change the channel to Food Network,” or “Turn on closed captions.” Since Assistant’s other functionalities are here as well, the voice remote can even be used to control some home devices like lights and thermostats.

Google Assistant is now available for Dish customers with a voice remote and a broadband-connected Hopper. It’s available for all generations of the Hopper and all models of the Joey as well as the Wally once the software update is installed.

Monument Valley 3 Is Currently In Development

Ustwo Games is behind one of the most loved mobile games ever, Monument Valley. Fans of the title will be delighted to know that there’s a new experience being developed. Ustwo Games has confirmed today that Monument Valley 3 is currently in development.

Apart from confirming that it’s building a new Monument Valley experience, the developer has confirmed nothing else about the iteration. The confirmation itself comes in the form of a job posting.

The studio is looking for a new game director who will lead the creative vision for Monument Valley 3. This explains why it doesn’t have any more details to offer today since the project appears to be in the very early stages at this point in time.

The original Monument Valley puzzler was launched back in 2014 and it quickly became popular because of its beautiful visuals. A sequel was then launched in 2017 which focused more on characters and creating a comprehensive story for those characters. Ustwo Games took everyone by surprise as it actually announced and launched Monument Valley on the same day.

Since the word is already out about Monument Valley 3 that element of surprise may be gone but Ustwo Games can certainly surprise everyone by just launching the game out of the blue on one fine day.
