Sony’s Wearable Air Conditioner Will Keep You Cool During The Summer

The summer heat can sometimes get so unbearable where even a fan does little to nothing to cool us down, only ending up circulating the hot air in the process. However, if you’re in need of something a little stronger, Sony just might have the device for you in the form of the Reon Pocket, a wearable air conditioner that fits right in your pocket.

Now, the Reon Pocket will need a specially designed shirt in order to be clipped onto, and it can be activated or deactivated by using your smartphone and an accompanying app. It will sit on your neck where it will help to keep you cool during those hot summer days. That being said, the entire setup doesn’t exactly come cheap.

The basic package with the Reon Pocket and one shirt that fits the device will come in at $130. The device is also expected to last for about 90 minutes per charge, so it’s not exactly designed to be used all day. In addition to being able to keep you cool, the Reon Pocket also works in reverse, where it will be capable of keeping you warm on those cold days as well, so it will be useful in both summer and winter.

For those who are interested, Sony has launched the device on its crowdfunding platform, although for now it seems to be only available in Japan, but you can take a look if you’re interested.

The T-Mobile And Sprint Merger Just Got Approved

Both T-Mobile and Sprint have been planning to merge with each other for a while now. Given that these are two of the four major carriers in the US, naturally this created some concerns for antitrust regulators who feared that it might result in a company that is too monopolistic for the market.

In the past, we have seen similar deals get shot down, like a few years ago when AT&T and T-Mobile attempted the same thing. However, it looks like we’re in a different era now because after more than a year, the US Department of Justice has finally and officially approved the  T-Mobile and Sprint merger.

The formation of the new company will be known as the “New T-Mobile” and as part of their deal with the US Department of Justice, which required them to create a competitor to fill the void, Dish will now become the fourth major carrier in the country.

In a statement made by T-Mobile’s CEO John Legere, “The T-Mobile and Sprint merger we announced last April will create a bigger and bolder competitor than ever before — one that will deliver the most transformative 5G network in the country, lower prices, better quality, unmatched value and thousands of jobs, while unlocking an unprecedented $43B net present value in synergies. We are pleased that our previously announced target synergies, profitability and long-term cash generation have not changed.”

DOOM, DOOM II, DOOM III Launched On Consoles And Mobile

If you’re a fan of classic video games, there is a good chance that you might be familiar with the DOOM franchise. DOOM was one of the few games from back in the day that helped to popularize the FPS genre, in which we might not have games like Battlefield or Call of Duty if DOOM was not as successful as it was.

For those who grew up playing the game, and wouldn’t mind reliving a classic, you’ll be extremely pleased to learn that Bethesda has since released the first three original DOOM titles for consoles and mobile, where you’ll be able to take the games for a spin again on your modern gaming device.

This includes DOOM, DOOM II, and DOOM III, with the first two games being priced at $5 each while the latter will be priced at $10. It will be available across multiple platforms which includes the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, as well as iOS and Android devices. The games don’t appear to have been remastered so don’t expect to see any high quality graphics, but if you enjoyed the games as they were, then this could be worth checking out.

In the meantime, you can check out the trailer in the video above to get an idea of how the games might look like on your device.
