Verizon’s 5G Network Goes Live In Four Additional Cities

Verizon today announced that it’s expanding its nascent 5G network to four more cities in the United States. Its customers in Atlanta, Detroit, Indianapolis, and Washington, D.C. will be able to access the next-generation mobile network in select areas. This means that Verizon’s 5G service is now available in a total of nine cities across the United States.

Verizon has previously said that it’s going to bring the service to more than 30 cities across the country by the end of this year. It will certainly try hard to meet that goal before the year ends as other carriers are also being quick to roll out their 5G service to more cities.

The carrier does provide specific descriptions for service locations. We’re still a ways away from city-wide 5G coverage. No carrier in the United States is offering that at this point in time. Coverage inside buildings may very well be virtually non-existent.

Nevertheless, those who do happen to have a 5G smartphone will now be able to take advantage of the up to claimed gigabit speeds on their mobile device. When accessing the service at the specific locations where coverage is available, users will experience a noticeable change in the speeds that they get on the mobile network.

Existing subscribers who own Android TV devices will appreciate that Hulu is finally adding support for this platform. They can already access the service on the other platforms where Hulu is available. It was holding out for Android TV for some reason but that’s soon going to be all in the past now.

Netflix’s Much Awaited ‘The Irishman’ Gets Its First Trailer

‘The Irishman’ is a movie that cinema buffs have long been waiting for. Netflix picked up the project that has some of the biggest legends in the industry behind it. It brings together Martin Scorsese with Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci as they tell a story about the lives of union figures Frank Sheeran and Jimmy Hoffa who were linked to organized crime. Netflix has finally released the first trailer for this much awaited movie.

You won’t have to say much to sell someone on a movie that has Scorsese behind the lens and icons like De Niro, Pacino, and Pesci. However, there’s another reason why people are so interested in this film as Industrial Light & Magic is involved with the project.

It’s the special effects divison of Lucasfilm and it was tasked with de-aging the lead actors, De Niro in particular, since they will be playing their characters at different periods in life. The first trailer that has been released shows a younger De Niro playing the role of Sheeran.

It hasn’t been confirmed at this point in time when The Irishman is going to be released. It’s expected that the movie will be screened in select theaters in addition to being made available on Netflix.
