Capcom Teases New Resident Evil Project

Could there be a new Resident Evil game in the works? If you’re a fan of the franchise, you might want to prepare yourselves because in a newly-launched website, Capcom is teasing something called “Project Resistance” which some believe could be a new Resident Evil project in development.

This is due to the logo in which the R and E in the world “Resistance” are highlighted in red, leading some to believe that this is somehow Resident Evil related. This is just speculation for now, but the teaser trailer for Project Resistance is expected to debut at the Tokyo Game Show on the 9th of September.

The last time Capcom released a new Resident Evil game that wasn’t a remake was back in 2017 with Resident Evil 7. This means that it does seem like the right time for the company to launch a new game, so we’ll just have to wait and see. The website also shows the logo of Steam, Xbox One, and PS4, so it seems that this could be a game designed for current-gen consoles, suggesting that its release might not be too far off.

In any case, do check back with us in the coming weeks if you’d like to learn more about the upcoming game.

Garmin Launches New Fenix 6 Smartwatches

There are plenty of smartwatches that exist in the market right now, but in case you’re after a smartwatch that has been designed for outdoor use like trekking and hiking, Garmin is probably best known for that where the company’s smartwatches have typically been favored by fitness and outdoor enthusiasts.

If you are looking for such a smartwatch, you’ll be interested to learn that Garmin has announced not just one, but three new smartwatches. This includes the Garmin Fenix 6, 6S, and the 6X {ro Solar. The Fenix 6X Pro Solar will be the flagship model where as its name implies, this watch will be powered using solar energy.

It will not be able to keep the watch running 24/7, but it will be able to extend the device’s 21-battery day life by an additional 3 days, meaning that users get almost a month out of their watch without having to recharge it. Apart from that and also the different sizes, all the Fenix 6 watches will share similar features.

This includes the new PacePro feature that can adapt for elevation changes to keep a runner’s pacing on track. It will also be able to show your target split pace, actual split pace, distance next split, and how much time you have ahead or behind your goal. There will also be the introduction of a new tool called the Power Manager, where it will show you how some of the watch’s features affect the watch’s overall battery life.

The Garmin Fenix 6 and 6S will be priced at $600 each while the Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Solar will retail for $1,150.

Apple Is Giving Some Shops The Right To Repair iPhones

When your iPhone is under warranty, it makes sense to take it back to Apple to get it fixed, where usually it will cost you almost nothing. However, when it is out of warranty, taking it back to Apple could be a rather expensive practice.

This is why some customers choose to take their iPhones to non-Apple repair centers. Apple has butted heads with these practices but it looks like the company is willing to concede a bit. Apple has recently launched what they are calling the Independent Repair Provider Program. What this means is that small repair stores will be given the opportunity to officially repair iPhones.

These shops under the program will be given access to genuine Apple components, training, and resources that are provided to authorized service providers. Companies who are interested can actually sign up for free, where their employees will need to undergo a training program which will also be provided by Apple.

We’re not sure if there is a catch to this program, but it could help smaller businesses who previously had to buy iPhone components from the grey market which might not be genuine.

Apple has come under fire for some of their practices regarding non-official repairs. For example, it wasn’t too long ago that Apple implemented some changes that would prevent the iPhone’s battery health from showing if it was repaired by an unauthorized service provider.
