Smartwatches are a dime a dozen but the majority of them seem to be targeted as a specific class of users that prefer casual or classy looking timepieces. Even those designed for active users wouldn’t really look out of place in a board meeting or gala. Athletes and fitness buffs, however, need more than just a handsome smartwatch. They need … Continue reading

The Chromecast is a simple device that does exactly one thing and does it well. Six years after its debut in 2013, the original Chromecast is still useful, even after the Chromecast Audio came and went, and the introduction of the more powerful Chrom…
It is said that part of the reason behind climate change is due to our desire to eat meat. This is why there have been some companies who are exploring meat alternatives. Now, the idea of veganism or being a vegetarian isn’t new, but for the most part, fake meat has typically tasted bad.
However, companies like Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat have come up with some pretty groundbreaking alternatives that according to those who have tried them, come pretty close in terms of taste, texture, and look. So much so that fried chicken fast food giant KFC wants to get in on the action as well, and have announced that they will be testing out Beyond Meat’s fried “chicken” at one of their outlets in Atlanta.
We should note that if you plan on testing it out, the Beyond Fried Chicken will be cooked in the same fryers as the regular chicken, meaning that if you’re a vegan or vegetarian, then this might not be for you, at least not yet. It will be interesting to see how it will taste and how customers might react to them.
At least based on the photo alone, it definitely does not look like your typical KFC chicken, but we imagine that as long as it tastes good, maybe people can overlook the fact that it is not actually meat that they are eating.

Disney+ will be launching in November where it will be priced at $7 a month. It is cheaper than other streaming services like Netflix, especially when you consider that it will allow four simultaneous streams at 4K, a feature that Netflix subscribers have to pay $16 to have. However, if you’re looking to save yourself some money, you’re in luck.
This is because during the D23 Expo, Disney has announced that all D23 members will be eligible to receive a 33% discount on their Disney+ subscription. This will apply all members, meaning that if you’re a D23 General member (which is free), you’ll still be able to take advantage of it.
This offer is only valid until the 2nd of September so if you want to make use of it, just log into your D23 account and you should be able to see the redemption option. However, we should point out that this will require you to sign up and commit to a 3-year Disney+ subscription. At this point in time, no one knows how good (or bad) Disney+ is, so you’ll be taking a risk.
However, the discount means that you’ll be saving yourself about $33 a year, so that amounts to nearly $100 in savings during that 3-year period. It’s not a bad deal if you think about it, but like we said, no one really knows if the service will be worth subscribing to.

There are many digital assistants in the market today, such as Amazon’s Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple’s Siri, Samsung’s Bixby, and Microsoft’s Cortana, just to name a few. However, it seems that come 2020, the BBC is expected to toss their hat into the ring with their own digital assistant that apparently has been designed to better understand the various British accents.
At the moment the digital assistant has no name, but according to the BBC, the current working title is “Beeb”, but we expect that to change upon launch. The organization is currently asking staff around the UK to come and record their voices in a bid to help the digital assistant better understand the various British accents.
It is interesting that the BBC wants to get in on the digital assistant game. This is because the competition is so fierce at the moment where even big tech companies like Apple, Microsoft, and Samsung are having a hard time getting a slice of that pie. In fact, thanks to cheap smart speakers like the Google Home Mini and the Amazon Echo Dot, Google Assistant and Alexa are currently dominating the market.
Perhaps it could end up just being a regional thing, where it could prove popular in the UK, but either way we’ll have to wait until 2020 which is when the BBC is targeting the launch of their digital assistant.

Samsung’s newest Galaxy Tab S6 may seem unique for having two cameras, one of which is has a wide-angle lens, but it’s hardly the first tablet to have more than one sensor on its back. Google’s Project Tango tablet had a handful of sensors, all of which work in concert to give the device “AR eyes”. It seems that Apple … Continue reading
