Sony And Disney Make Up, Spider-Man Is Now Back In The MCU

Last month, it seemed that following a historic deal and a ton of success, Sony and Disney could not come to a new agreement regarding Spider-Man and his involvement in the MCU. This eventually led to Sony essentially getting up from the negotiations table and saying that they were done.

This was obviously extremely disappointing news for fans, especially with the role that Spider-Man has played in the various Marvel movies he’s appeared in so far. However, it looks like both Sony and Disney have made up since because in a joint announcement, Sony and Disney have revealed that Spider-Man will be swinging his way back into the MCU.

In a statement made by Marvel Studios and President Kevin Feige, “I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it. Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

According to the previous reports, one of the reasons that led to the split was because Disney wanted a bigger slice of the pie by asking for 50% of the profits. However, it seems that both companies have eventually agreed to a new deal where Marvel/Disney will receive 25% of the profits. That being said, with the partnership back on, the third Spider-Man movie will be released on the 16th of July, 2021.

macOS Catalina Update Could Be Released Next Week

During WWDC 2019, Apple announced a bunch of new software updates for its products. This included iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, watchOS, and macOS. So far, the updates have arrived for all of Apple’s devices except for their Mac computers, but according to Apple’s website, it seems that they are hinting that the update could be coming as soon as next week.

Initially spotted by the folks at MacRumors, the Danish Apple website has hinted that the macOS Catalina update could arrive on the 4th of October. Why is this, you ask? This is because the website teases the release of Apple Arcade for macOS would be available on the 4th of October (the reference has since been removed).

Since Apple Arcade for the Mac is a feature part of the macOS Catalina update, this seems to imply that the update will be released next week. Apple has yet to officially confirm the game’s release so it’s probably a good idea not to get your hopes up just yet. Apple had previously confirmed a fall release date, so we guess this does seem to be in line with that timeframe.

Either way, next week is coming soon so we should have more details, so do check back with us on the 4th of October to see if the update has indeed been released.

Facebook To Start Limited Testing Of Hiding ‘Like’ Counts On Its Site

Earlier this month, it was reported that Facebook could be looking to test hiding the “Like” count on its website. Considering that Facebook had started doing that with Instagram, we suppose it kind of makes sense that they would be looking to try something similar with its own website, and now it looks like they have.

According to a report from Engadget, Facebook has confirmed that they are testing it out now. If you don’t see it on your end, it is because the tests will be extremely limited and will only be in Australia at the moment. This is because according to Facebook, they told Engadget that this is because they are unclear if they want to go through with this, so the tests will tell them if this change will be well-received.

It is a somewhat controversial move as “Likes” are kind of why many people post on social media to begin with. Having a lot of “Likes” gives people validation, which is why there have been instances of people doing silly things just to increase their “Like” count. However, this is something that Facebook wants to stop, and they want people to just post what they want and feel comfortable expressing themselves without worrying about “Likes”.

Whether or not this will be sticking around remains to be seen, but in the meantime how do you feel about these changes? Is hiding the “Like” count a good move?

Logitech Dips Its Toe Into Streaming By Acquiring Streamlabs

Game streaming is a big deal and the top streamers have gained celebrity-like status. Take for example popular streamer Ninja, who used to stream on Twitch before he was courted away by Microsoft to stream exclusively on their platform. This is why it doesn’t come as a complete surprise to learn that Logitech wants to dip its toes further into the streaming waters.

The company has announced that they will be acquiring streaming software developer Streamlabs for over $100 million. $89 million will be acquired in cash while an additional $29 million will be acquired through stock, although the latter is said to be dependent on whether or not Streamlabs will be able to hit their revenue growth targets.

For those who are unfamiliar, Streamlabs is a tool that allows users to stream to popular platforms like Twitch, YouTube, Mixer, and Facebook. If you’ve ever watched streams and seen how streamers overlay chats on their screens while playing games, Streamlabs is one of the ways that streamers can go about doing it.

According to Ujesh Desai, general manager and vice president of Logitech G, “We’ve been fans of Streamlabs and their software since we started partnering with them over two years ago. Their industry-leading software is complementary to our existing gaming portfolio, and we believe we can do even greater things together.”

Apple Has Not Forgotten About Its Older Devices, Releases iOS 12.4.2 Update

When it comes to software updates, Apple actually does a pretty good job of keeping its devices updated for as long as possible. This means that sometimes, devices that are 4-5 years old will still be on the receiving end up major updates. In fact, as if to prove a point, Apple has released an update in the form of iOS 12.4.2.

But wait, isn’t iOS 13 out already? Yup, iOS 13 has already been released to the masses, but for devices that are unable to be updated to the latest version due to it being incompatible, Apple has not forgotten about you. While iOS 12.4.2 will not bring about the changes and improvements found in iOS 13, it is most likely to squash some bugs and also probably introduce improved security.

The devices that are eligible for the iOS 12.4.2 update include the iPad Air, iPad Mini 2, iPad Mini 3, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and the iPhone 6 Plus. So if you have any of those devices, it’s probably a good idea to update to the latest version anyway just to be safe and keep your device updated with security features and bug fixes.

We’re not sure if this will become a common practice for Apple in the future, but it does seem like a rather promising start.

Razer Brings Its Vibrating ‘Nari Ultimate’ Headphones To The Xbox One

Last year, Razer launched the Nari Ultimate gaming headphones. While gaming headphones are a dime a dozen, with Razer probably contributing half to that, what made the Nari Ultimate stand out from the competition was that it vibrated. This means that in addition to being able to hear your games, it also allows gamers to “feel” their games as well.

We’re not sure if this is purely novel or if there is actual merit to the feedback, but it’s there if gamers want to take advantage of it. The good news is that if you’re a console player and a set of vibrating headphones is something you’re after, you’ll be pleased to learn that Razer has announced that the Nari Ultimate headphones will be coming to the Xbox One as well.

For the most part, the headphones will be similar to the PC version, except that this has been designed for the Xbox One in mind, with Razer claiming that the headphones’ vibrating feature will work with “any Xbox One game”. We’ve yet to try this out for ourselves, so we’ll just take it at face value for now.

According to Alvin Cheung, Senior Vice President for Razer’s peripherals business unit, “The Nari Ultimate for Xbox One was designed to bring an added gaming dimension to all gamers. With Razer HyperSense, we have enabled gamers to experience their favorite titles with unrivaled gaming immersion.” If the Razer Nari Ultimate headphones is something you might be interested in, it is currently available for purchase where it is priced at $200.

Corsair’s New Virtuoso RGB SE Gaming Headset Launched

When we think of gaming accessories and peripherals, most of the time they can come off garish where they are made using loud colors, fierce-looking designs, and flashy lights. It can sometimes be a bit tacky which also reduces their versatility. If you agree and you would prefer a much subdued design, you’re in luck.

This is because Corsair has recently launched a new gaming headset in the form of the Virtuoso RGB SE. This is because the headset, as you can see in the image above, looks pretty plain and simple which is not necessarily a bad thing. This makes the headset a lot more versatile where you could use it for non-gaming purposes and no one would think too much about it.

In fact, that’s exactly what Corsair was going for when they claim that the headset be “bridging the gap between gaming headsets and high fidelity headphones.” The company is also boasting that the headset will be able to deliver on “impeccable clarity” and “uncompromising sound”, but whether or not they do remains to be seen.

The headphones will be offered in either a regular version or the SE version, but both models will be wireless. However, despite them being wireless, they do not use Bluetooth. Oddly enough, Corsair has opted to use RF which will require users to plug in a transmitter dongle. If you’re interested in getting your hands on either headset, the Virtuoso RGB will be priced at $180 while the SE version will be priced slightly more at $210.

Sony A7S III Could Come With A Built-In Cooling Fan

Computers can get hot when you do a lot of heavy processing on it. The same can be said about phones, but did you know that cameras can run hot too? If you’re a casual photographer, this might not be a problem you run into, but if you do shoot quite heavily, then there might be times when your camera could overheat and you’d be forced to turn it off and let it cool down.

For working professionals who need their cameras to be continuously operating, this can be an issue, but Sony could have a solution to that. According to a report from Sony Alpha Rumors, they have been tipped off by a reliable source who allegedly saw a prototype of the Sony A7S III. From what they were told, this prototype had an interesting feature in which is apparently comes with a cooling vent on the back.

If the report is true, Sony would actually not be the first company to introduce a cooling vent to their cameras. Panasonic had also previously introduced a cooling vent to its Lumix S1H camera, so this isn’t exactly a new concept. This would help the camera’s operations, especially when recording video, which is when cameras can start getting hot.

In addition to the cooling vent, their source also told them that the camera will come with 4K video recording at 120 FPS. Take it with a grain of salt for now as there is no word on when the camera will be announced, although Sony Alpha Rumors speculates it will most likely be in 2020 after the Sony A9III.
