DJI Announces Its New Lightweight Mavic Mini Drone

Drones come in all shapes and sizes, with some being bigger than others, while some being smaller. If you’re looking for a drone that you can easily bring with you outside, then you might be interested to learn that DJI has since announced their latest drone offering in the form of the DJI Mavic Mini.

As its name implies, the Mavic Mini is part of DJI’s Mavic series of foldable drones. These drones were game changers in the sense that they could be easily folded and put into a bag, and later expanded when needed. However, with the Mavic Mini, DJI is taking that foldable tech and making it even smaller, which according to the company, is their smallest and lightest drone to date.

This is being aimed at creators who value portability, but at the same time, it doesn’t mean that DJI has skimped on its features. According to the company, the Mavic Mini is capable of capturing 2.7K video footage at 30 fps, or 1080p footage at 60 fps. It is also able to snap 12MP photos with its 1/2.3-inch sensor, and there is also a built-in three-axis motorized gimbal that will help support the camera and keep the footage stable.

In terms of battery life, don’t let the size of the drone fool you as DJI has managed to squeeze in a battery that is good for 30 minutes of flight. If this sounds like something you are interested in, the Mavic Mini will be priced starting at $399 and will be shipping this November, with pre-orders now available through DJI’s website.
