iPhone 11 durability isn’t its weak point

This year, Apple has finally checked off some of the boxes that iPhone users have been begging for for years while still managing to be typical Apple in others. It has a triple camera system now, at least on its iPhone 11 Pro models, and supports a very fast wired, still not wireless, charging even if it didn’t ship the … Continue reading

Pixel 4 Might Only Be Released After October 18

Google is set to officially announce their Pixel 4 smartphones on the 15th of October. If you were hoping that the handset would be available for purchase on the day of launch itself, similar to the Pixel 3a and 3a XL, you might be disappointed to learn that you might have to wait a bit for its release.

This is according to a recent tweet by the official Android Twitter account in which it says that the first smartphone to ship with Android 10 is the OnePlus 7T. Given that the OnePlus 7T will only be released on the 18th of October, this means that the Pixel 4 smartphones will only be released after that, although it is entirely possible that pre-orders could be available on the 15h of October.

That being said, this shouldn’t be too surprising. Save for the Pixel 3a and 3a XL, Google’s previous Pixel phones have typically had a gap between its launch and its release, so for the Pixel 4 to be released after the launch date is pretty normal. In fact, we expect that there should be a gap of about a week between its launch and release, but either way do check back with us on the 15th of October if you’d like the details.

In the meantime, Android 10 has already made its way onto various smartphones, including the Pixel handsets and phones from other manufacturers.

Marvel’s TV Shows Could Have Movie-Style Budgets

One of the selling points of the upcoming Disney Plus subscription is that it is expected to play home to quite a few original live-action TV shows based on various Marvel characters. However, if you have been skeptical about their success, especially based on previous and current series, you might not have anything to worry about.

This is because according to a report from Variety, they have heard from their sources that Marvel will not be cheaping out on their TV shows. Instead, the company is expected to invest movie-style budgets into their shows, where each series could have a budget of anywhere between $100-$150 million.

Usually TV shows have smaller budgets because they need to run for multiple episodes and seasons, meaning that spending too much per episode isn’t economical. However, Marvel seems to be wanting to maintain the same visual standard that fans have come to know and love of their movies, hence the larger budgets.

According to one TV lit agent who spoke to Variety, “Feige’s shows are so far beyond anything Marvel TV has been able to do. He has access to all of these MCU characters that the other Marvel live-action stuff just doesn’t, not to mention way bigger budgets.” Disney+ is expected to launch in November and we can look forward to seeing Marvel series in the months and years to follow.

Nintendo Could Have A New Switch Lite In The Works With Fixed Controllers

Despite the Nintendo Switch Lite being pretty much brand new, we have started hearing reports that some owners are already experiencing controller drift issues. In case you’re unfamiliar, this is where there are issues with the controller in which the system thinks the controller is moving even if the user is not touching it.

This can be annoying especially when playing certain games as it means that you are making moves you did not intend to make. However, it seems that Nintendo could already be working on a fix. In a recent FCC filing, it appears that Nintendo could have an updated version of the console in the works sporting the identification number BKEHDH002.

This is versus the original Switch Lite that had the identification number BKEHDH001, suggesting that this could be a minor update to the console’s hardware. While it was not specified as to what those changes could be, it has been suggested that it could be a fix for the controller problem, although we’re wondering why it was even present in the console to begin with.

A teardown by YouTuber Spawn Wave found that the controls used in the Switch Lite are similar to the Joy-Cons, which also had drift problems, suggesting that the problems could have been carried forward. Nintendo is currently facing a class-action lawsuit over the Switch’s Joy-Con problems, with the Switch Lite having been recently added to the mix.
