Valve Just Announced A New Half-Life Game

If you’re one of the many, many gamers who have been wishing and hoping for Half-Life 3, you’re could be in luck, sort of. This is because Valve has officially announced a new Half-Life game, but unfortunately, it is not Half-Life 3 that we’ve all been waiting for. Instead, Valve has announced Half-Life: Alyx.

Details of the game are scarce but Valve has stated that they will be revealing more details this coming Thursday. However, based on what the company has mentioned, this will be a new flagship VR game, but we will definitely have to wait until this Thursday if we want to find out more.

That being said, Valve looking into VR isn’t new or surprising. The company did work with HTC on developing the HTC Vive VR headset, and last we heard, there were rumors suggesting that Valve could also be working with Apple on developing the company’s rumored AR headset. It will be interesting to see what Half-Life: Alyx could be about, and whether or not this will be a brand new game or if it could be Valve repurposing older Half-Life games and giving it a VR makeover.

In any case, do check back with us in the next couple of days for when Valve takes the wraps off its latest Half-Life game.

Report Claims Apple’s AR Headset Could Eventually Replace The iPhone

Apple’s iPhone has been around for a decade now, and just like the feature phones before it, we’re sure that eventually there will come a time when smartphones will be replaced with something else. But the question is, what could it be? According to a report from The Information (paywall), it could be an augmented reality (AR) headset.

According to the report, Apple is apparently looking into potentially creating an iPhone replacement. Apple has been rumored to be working on an AR headset for a while now, and some reports claim that we could even see it in 2020. The report goes on to claim that Apple has recently held a secret meeting with employees in which Apple detailed their plans for the future.

One of those plans includes a second AR headset expected in 2023, which are apparently designed for all-day use and is meant to be a stepping stone towards Apple releasing a device that could eventually replace the iPhone. It is a rather wild report as it’s hard to imagine people switching from a phone to a pair of wearable glasses.

This is because as it stands, wearable glasses still aren’t a big thing yet and we have also seen how Google tried (and failed) with the Google Glass. It is possible that the market wasn’t ready for smart glasses yet so we’ll have to wait and see, but until then, take it with a grain of salt.

Disney Plus Accounts Hacked In Less Than A Week After Its Launch

So Disney Plus was only just launched but it seems that in less than a week, the service has since been hacked where thousands of Disney customers have had their accounts compromised and stolen, where they have appeared on the dark web where they are available for purchase.

That being said, it is unclear as to what could have led to the hack. According to some users, it has been suggested that reused passwords could have been the culprit. Given that we have seen various breaches in the past, it is possible that some of these accounts could have reused those passwords, thus giving hackers easy access.

At the same time, some users have told ZDNet that they did not reuse passwords, so it is still a mystery as to how their accounts were compromised. To make matters worse, it seems that Disney’s customer service isn’t being particularly helpful where some have complained to be waiting on the line for help for hours, with still no resolution.

Now, to be fair, Disney Plus is still a relatively new service and as such, growing pains are to be expected. The service does not support two-factor authentication (yet) which probably could have mitigated some of these issues, but hopefully it will all be sorted out soon. In the meantime, keeping your accounts safe is paramount these days so check out our guides on how to create a strong password, or alternatively how to use a password manager if you’re worried about how to manage all these passwords.

Ad-Supported Free Amazon Music Now Available For iOS, Android Devices

There are many music streaming services available today, and as such, customers might be torn trying to decide which to signup for. If you’re still unsure about whether or not music streaming is right for you, then you might want to check out Amazon Music because Amazon has made it free and available for iOS and Android devices.

For those unfamiliar, Amazon Music is a free and ad-supported music streaming services that was launched earlier this year for Amazon’s Echo speakers and Alexa devices. However, it seems that Amazon has since made it more widely-available for non-Amazon speakers and devices.

According to Amazon, “Beginning today, Amazon Music customers who do not yet have a Prime membership, or a subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited, can now listen to an ad-supported selection of top playlists and thousands of stations for free on their favorite devices.” It should be noted that Amazon Music is different from Amazon Music Unlimited, which is a perk that Amazon Prime members get.

One of those differences is that this version will come with ads, similar to the free version of Spotify. This means that users will need to put up with ads appearing every now and then in between tracks.
