TikTok’s Parent Company Could Be Planning A Music Streaming Competitor

When it comes to music streaming services, there are many to choose from, and it looks like we could be getting yet another option. According to a report from the Financial Times (paywall), it seems that TikTok’s parent company ByteDance could be planning on entering the on-demand music streaming service.

However, instead of being a pure music streaming service, it will come with interactive features where it will include a collection of short video clips that will let users sync music to, meaning that you could create short custom music videos that you can then share with your friends and family members.

It is also reported that this service could also be priced under $10, making it a cheaper and more compelling alternative to the likes of Spotify and Apple Music. The company is said to be in talks with the various music labels to work out some kind of licensing deal, and that it could even launch as soon as December.

Take it with a grain of salt for now, but given that TikTok is a music-based app, it’s not surprising that ByteDance is looking to expand on that. Whether or not it will have some kind of tie-in with TikTok or if it will be a completely separate product remains to be seen.

These Fake AirPods Stickers Are A Mean But Hilarious Prank

The problem with truly wireless earbuds is that because they do not have a cable connecting them to each other, it is possible to lose one of them. While devices like the AirPods do have a “Find My” feature, we imagine that there are instances where people can still lose them regardless.

This is something that prankster Pablo Rochat decided to take advantage of, where he printed life-sized stickers of the AirPods stuck them around his city. Given their size and how realistic they look, we imagine that there were probably a ton of people who saw them and bent down to try and pick them up, only to discover that it was just a sticker.

That being said, we’re not sure how many people Rochat managed to fool since he did not create a reaction video, but we think that it probably managed to fool a couple of people. It is a pretty hilarious idea and you know what, if you’re interested, Rochat has actually created a template where you will be able to print your own stickers to prank people around you.

If you’re interested in doing so then head on over to Rochat’s website to get the template, and also don’t forget to film a reaction video and let us know how it went in the comments below!

13-inch MacBook Pro With New ‘Magic Keyboard’ Expected In First Half Of 2020

Last week, Apple introduced the 16-inch MacBook Pro where they also brought a new “Magic Keyboard” to the laptop. Based on the teardown, this is essentially the same old scissor mechanism used in earlier MacBooks before the introduction of the butterfly switch, along with some added improvements that are said to improve key stability.

Now, we have heard rumors that Apple will be introducing this new keyboard to future MacBooks, and now according to a report from DigiTimes (paywall), it seems that the 13-inch MacBook Pro could be one of the first laptops to receive the new keyboard following the 16-inch model.

The report claims that the new scissor keyboard will be introduced in the first half of 2020, and while DigiTimes doesn’t necessarily have the best track record for these kind of things, it should be noted that a refresh in the first half of the year actually makes a lot of sense, so this doesn’t really come as a complete surprise.

Apple is expected to continue making 13-inch MacBook Pros, where a recent interview with Apple exec Phil Schiller confirmed that the company will not be replacing it with a 14-inch model. No word on when the refresh is expected to take place, but Apple usually hosts an event in the first quarter of the year, so maybe around then.
