Apple Reportedly Doubling AirPods Pro Production Due To Strong Demand

When the AirPods were first launched, many mocked the design of the earbuds, but the naysayers were quickly proven wrong as it was later revealed to be one of Apple’s best-selling products in recent years and was a hit amongst customers. It turns out that Apple might have struck gold twice.

In a report from the Nikkei Asian Review, it has been revealed that demand for the new AirPods Pro is so strong that Apple is now being forced to double the production of the earbuds. The company is now expected to boost production to as many as 2 million units a month. While we don’t know how many units Apple has sold to date, the fact that they are boosting it to 2 million units a month does give us an idea since Apple would probably avoid producing more than what the market demands.

In case you’re hearing about this for the first time, the AirPods Pro was launched last month where it was a “pro” version of the AirPods. It offered up better audio quality and also comes with noise-cancelling features, something that other competitors have beaten Apple to in the recent months.

It is also more expensive than the regular AirPods, but it seems that despite the difference in price, customers are still biting.

Apple’s 2020 iPhone Could Be Offered In A 6.7-inch Variant

If you think that the current iPhone 11 Pro Max’s 6.1-inch display is still too “small” for your liking, there is some good news to be had. According to a report from Korean publication ETNews, it has been suggested that Apple could actually increase the size of its iPhone where it could be bumped up to 6.7-inches.

In addition to releasing an iPhone with a larger display, the report claims that Apple could also be reducing the size of its smallest iPhone, where it will be dropped to 5.4-inches. However, Apple is also rumored to be maintaining its 6.1-inch iPhone, meaning that we will be looking at three iPhones with 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.7-inch displays.

What’s also interesting about this report is that it claims that Apple could finally be shifting to a full OLED iPhone lineup. As it stands, the iPhone 11 lineup includes two OLED models and one LCD model, but if the report is true, next year’s iPhones will all use OLED displays. There are also talks about how Apple could employ new display technology which will be thinner than before.

It’s hard to say how true these rumors are so take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we’ll have more details soon.

Twitter’s Inactive Account Purge Will Only Affect EU Accounts For Now

As you might have heard, Twitter recently announced that they would begin purging inactive accounts next month. This would essentially delete accounts that have not been logged into for the past six months and will also free up a bunch of usernames. However, it seems that this announcement was not as well-received as Twitter had hoped.

So much so that Twitter has since followed up with additional clarifications about their plans. According to Twitter, first of all, the account purging will only apply to EU accounts for now due to local privacy regulations such as the GDPR. Twitter also notes that they’ve always had an inactive account policy, but they also admit that it’s not one that they enforce consistently.

There have also been some concerns by users about accounts belonging to deceased loved ones. According to Twitter, they have acknowledged this and will also putting the purge on hold while they figure out a way to allow users to memorialize accounts. This article by Drew Olanoff on TechCrunch shows how people still revisit the Twitter accounts of their deceased loved ones just to relive certain memories and thoughts that their loved one had.

We’re not sure how Twitter plans on handling this, but in the meantime, perhaps consider logging into your account every six months or so if you’d like to keep it active.
