How To Turn On Voice Control On The iPhone

Apple is a company that prides itself on creating a ton of accessibility features for its customers who might not have otherwise been able to use their products. One of the new accessibility features that Apple introduced to its iOS 13 update comes in the form of a new and more robot Voice Control.

As its name implies, this will allow iOS users to use their voice to control various aspects of their devices, but it is more than that. While Siri already allows users to launch apps and send messages and set reminders, Voice Control on iOS 13 will be able to do more than that.

While it was created as an accessibility feature, it is still pretty cool and useful enough where if you’re so inclined, you can take it for a spin yourself, and here’s how you can turn it on.

How To Turn On iOS 13’s Voice Control

  1. If you’re using Voice Control for the first time, you will need to set it up
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select Accessibility
  4. Tap on Voice Control
  5. Tap Set up Voice Control and follow the instructions on the screen
  6. Once you’ve gone through the screens, a download will initiate
  7. When the download is complete, you will see a blue microphone icon in your status bar. This lets you know that Voice Control is currently listening out for your commands

There are a multitude of commands available for Voice Control, and you can bring them up anytime by saying, “Show me what to say” in case you’re not familiar with them.

How To Turn Off Voice Control

If you’re done using Voice Control and would like to turn it off to stop your phone from listening to you, here’s how you can turn the feature off.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Accessibility
  3. Tap on the Voice Control toggle to turn it off. Once it is off, the toggle will no longer be green and the blue microphone icon will disappear from your status bar.

‘Mario Kart Tour’ Will Be Testing A Real-Time Multiplayer Mode In December

Mario Kart Tour launched for Android and iOS last month. Now, Nintendo has confirmed with a tweet that a real-time multiplayer beta test has been planned for December.

It should be an interesting addition to the Mario Kart Tour game in general. However, there is a catch.

You will be able to access the real-time multiplayer beta test only if you are a Gold Pass subscriber of Mario Kart Tour. The Gold Pass will cost you about $5 per month if you want to get the subscription.

It is also worth noting that the price for Gold Pass subscription is subject to change. So, it might get cheaper or expensive (we cannot be too sure).

In case you are not aware, the Gold Pass subscription gives you several perks which include gold gifts upon race tour completion.

In addition to this, you will also get special in-game gold badges from Gold Challenges.

Also, if you are a first-time subscriber, you get a two-week free trial period to see if the subscription is worth it.

So, considering all of this, you may choose to get the subscription to try out the beta test of the new real-time multiplayer mode coming to Mario Kart Tour.

Is it something that would compel you to get a Gold Pass subscription? Let us know what you think about it in the comments below.

NBC Peacock streaming TV may be free in 2020

If NBC follows through with today’s report, they’d be the first “totally free streaming video service” to be delivered by a major media provider. Of course, said streaming video provider wouldn’t likely be delivered COMPLETELY free. Instead, today’s report means it’s likely NBC’s Peacock will be free, with advertisements. So sorta like what Hulu did when they started… only a … Continue reading

TOYOTA Boshoku MX191 Concept Lets You Rearrange Its Interior

I recently attended the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, and among the numerous displays of production and concept cars, I came across the booth for the Toyota Boshoku Corporation, who makes seating, interior, and exterior components for vehicles. There, they were showing off a very interesting glimpse into the future of vehicle interiors – specifically for autonomous cars.

Developed in collaboration with AISIN, Denso, Tokai Rika, and Todoya Gosei, the MX191 Concept packs in more than 45 innovations to create a whole new experience inside of its cabin. The “Concierge-in-vehicle” interior is designed to adjust the configuration of its seating based on the needs of its occupants. Since the future may very well include self-driving cars, the idea that you need to face the front window and the steering wheel could go away. The MX191 can turn its interior into a space for relaxation, work, or play, while the car does the hard work of getting you to your destination.

Among its many features, the MX191 has a system that can prepare the vehicle for its occupants. Simply push a button on your smartphone, and it will turn on the climate control and clean the cabin air while the car is still charging up in your parking space. As you approach the car, its privacy e-glass windows become transparent, the doors open, and the front seats rotate outward for ease of entry.

Depending on the drive mode selected, the driver’s seat either remains in a conventional position, or can push back to provide added legroom for work or relaxation. Beyond that, there are several different seating configurations, some which provide greater comfort for each individual, and others to encourage conversation.

The system also envisions heart rate sensors for each passenger, and would automatically adjust its seats into a reclined position if an occupant is getting sleepy. Infrared sensors automatically adjust the vehicle climate control system based on each person’s body temperature as well. One big safety innovation is the in-seat airbag system that can envelop passengers from the front or sides depending on the direction of an impact.

There are lots of other forward-thinking features for comfort and safety as well. The video below features an in-depth explanation of all of the MX191’s features and functions, along with a demonstration of the adjustable seating system:

At this point, there aren’t any production vehicles that are ready to include the seating features of the MX191, but there are certainly elements which are already out there, like the vehicle preconditioning found in some EVs, infrared climate control, already in some Lexus vehicles, and the swivel-out seats for entry and exit, which appear to be similar to those coming to the 2021 Toyota Yaris.
