Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Will Charge $20 To Show Kill-Death Ratios

When you play multiplayer games, one of the basic features of such games is that it will show you a win-lose/kill-death ratio. This lets you know how well you’re doing, how the rest of your team is doing, how much ahead the enemy is of you, and so on. This has been a basic feature since the good old days of Quake.

However, for whatever reason, the folks at Activision have decided that in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it seems that players who want to check their kill-death ratios in the game will have to unlock the feature for $20. This will come in the form of an in-game item called “Time to Die” which will be sold as part of the “Mother Russia” bundle that costs 2,000 COD Points, or $20.

Now, before you get up in arms over this decision, we should note that kill-death ratios for most modes in the game will still be shown. However, they will only be shown at the end of the round in a final scoreboard once the match has concluded, meaning that players will not be able to track their progress unless they purchase this item.

Instead, during the game, players will only be able to see their kill and assists, which isn’t always the most useful because a player with 10 kills to 30 deaths suggests that they might not be as proficient. We’re not sure if Activision will change their minds due to the backlash, so we’ll have to wait and see.

The Glitter Bomb Porch Thief Deterrent Is Back With A Vengeance

Last year, NASA engineer Mark Rober created a device known as the “glitter bomb” which went viral. Basically, the device was to deter and punish porch thieves who steal delivery packages off the porches of unsuspecting home owners. While it was a pretty impressive invention, it did generate some controversy when it was discovered that the “victims” of the glitter bomb were actually friends.

That being said and controversy aside, we can’t deny that this was a very impressive creation and it looks like Rober is back with the Glitter Bomb Trap 2.0. However, instead of merely dousing victims with glitter, Rober decided to draw some inspiration from none other than the Home Alone movies by including a fart spray, where not only would glitter explode out of the package, but a fart smell would accompany it as well. The video even features Macaulay Culkin in which the glitter bomb was inspired by.

In this particular video, Rober sent the packages to several volunteers around the US who left it on their porches to bait would-be thieves, and the reaction of those thieves are pretty hilarious. In fact, one of the thieves was aware of the previous glitter bomb, but apparently it did not seem to deter him. If you have about 20 minutes or so to spare, then check out the Glitter Bomb Trap 2.0 in action in the video above.

YouTube Superstar PewDiePie Will Be ‘Quitting’ YouTube In 2020

YouTube sensation PewDiePie is no stranger to controversy and has been on the platform for the longest time ever. However, it seems that come 2020, the YouTuber has announced that he will be taking a break. Exactly for how long remains to be seen, but either way, it seems that we might see less of him in the new year.

According to PewDiePie, it seems that this has something to do with YouTube’s new harassment and anti-bullying policy that was introduced. In a video posted on his channel, he was quoted as saying, “I am taking a break from YouTube next yea. I wanted to say it in advance because I made up my mind. I’m tired. I’m feeling very tired. I don’t know if you can tell. Just so you know, early next year I’ll be away for a little while. I’ll explain that later but I wanted to give a heads-up.”

The YouTuber seems to suggest that it’s not so much the policy that’s the issue, but how YouTube goes about enforcing it. This is not the first time that YouTube’s policies have raised eyebrows due to their vague wordings. For example, last month YouTube introduced a new terms of service that hinted that channels that are “no longer commercially viable” could be deleted.

This led to speculation that YouTube might delete channels that aren’t profitable, although YouTube later clarified this.

Google Maps Can Now List The Right EV Charging Stations For Your Car

One of the problems with electric cars is that they need to be charged, and unlike gas stations, EV charging stations still aren’t quite as ubiquitous just yet. To make matters worse, there still doesn’t seem to be a standard connector, meaning that depending on the car you drive, you may or may not be able to find an EV that supports it.

The good news is that if you’re a Google Maps user, it seems that Google has recently introduced a new feature in which you can list the type of connector that your electric car uses, and based on that, Google Maps will be able to find EV charging stations that offer up the correct plug for your car.

Google Maps already offers users the ability to look for EV charging stations, but like we said, due to different cars using different connectors, the nearest EV charging station to you might not be the right one. For example, Nissan’s EVs use the CHAdeMO connector, while BMW and Volkswagen use CCS, while Tesla has its own proprietary connector (although in their defense, they also have their own dedicated stations).

So the next time you’re driving your EV and need a dedicated charging station, you shouldn’t have any problems finding the correct one using Google Maps. Note that presumably this feature is only available in the US, so EV drivers in other parts of the world might not get this feature.

Xbox Series X Could Be More Powerful Than The PS5

Both Microsoft and Sony have confirmed the existence of their next-gen consoles, which means that the console wars are about to start anew. So, which platform will dominate this round? The previous round saw Sony lead the way by a considerable margin, but could Microsoft’s Xbox Series X take the lead this time?

According to Microsoft Xbox chief Phil Spencer, it seems that the company is banking on it and they are hoping to achieve this by making the most powerful console. Speaking to GameSpot, Spencer hinted that the next-gen Xbox could potentially be more powerful than Sony’s PS5. “Our goal has always been to build the most powerful console we can, and I think we’re there. We like leading in power and performance and I feel like we’re going to be there again.”

The company had previously suggested that the Xbox Series X will be eight times more powerful than the Xbox One and twice as powerful as the Xbox One X. As for Sony, the company has only confirmed the existence of the PS5 but stopped short of actually announcing any specs.

This means that we have no idea if Microsoft could indeed beat Sony in terms of performance, but it looks like that’s what the company is aiming for.

FDA Approves An Interoperable, Automated Insulin Pump

Managing diabetes can be tricky and painful, which is why companies like Apple are exploring ways of introducing glucose monitoring through non-invasive ways such as through the Apple Watch. While that has yet to become a reality, diabetics living in the US might want to take note of a new device by Tandem Diabetes Care.

Dubbed the t:slim X2, this is an insulin pump that has been approved by the FDA where it can now work together with glucose monitoring devices like the Dexcom G6 glucose monitor. What this means is that as the monitor checks on the user’s glucose levels and based on that, it can dynamically adjust the required insulin levels to keep users in the safe glucose range.

The t:slim X2 is also an automated pump which means that it can automatically dispense insulin when needed, and together with the Dexcom G6, it makes it a less painful way of monitoring your insulin levels, which typically requires users to prick their fingers to draw blood in order to feed it to a sensor that detects glucose levels.

That being said, we should note that just because the FDA has approved i doesn’t mean that you can buy it off the shelf. It is still required by law that you purchase a pump from a licensed physician.
