Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Is The Best-Selling Fighting Game In The US

Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. franchise is one of the more popular fighting games in gaming history. It has spawned multiple titles and variants over the years, and in more recent times, Nintendo released Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the latest title in the franchise that also possibly has its biggest roster ever.

In fact, according to the NPD, it has been revealed that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the best-selling fighting game in US history. That’s quite an impressive title to hold, especially when you consider the fact that there are a ton of other fighting games out there that are also pretty popular, like Street Fighter, Tekken, King of Fighters, and so on.

That being said, the party nature of the game that allows multiple players to play with each other on the same console probably helps. The nature of the game’s design also makes it easy for casual players to get into the game, and the free-for-all style also means that sometimes even newbies can get lucky shots in, making it fun for players who might not have much experience with it.

The game has since sold more than 15.71 million copies to date and has since surpassed Capcom’s Street Fighter II which has sold 15.5 million copies in its lifetime.

Apple’s 5G iPhone Might Not Be The Hit We Think It Is

According to the rumors, Apple is expected to launch a 5G iPhone in 2020. This is great news for iPhone customers who are hoping to hop on board the 5G bandwagon, but according to Loup Ventures managing partner, Gene Munster, he believes that the 5G iPhone might not be the hit device we think it is.

Munster believes that when the 5G iPhone does launch in 2020, the first year of its existence could be rather disappointing for investors. This is because Munster thinks that this is largely due to carriers who have yet to fully roll out 5G coverage, meaning that even if the 5G iPhone does launch, not everyone will be able to take advantage of it, and as such, they could be tempted to buy a different iPhone (there are rumors suggesting that there could be both 4G and 5G iPhone models).

However, this is a different opinion compared to a previous report which suggested that Apple is already cutting back on iPhone 11 production in anticipation of the iPhone 12, which the company apparently thinks will be a more popular model due to the inclusion of 5G. This doesn’t mean that Apple won’t move a truckton of iPhones in 2020, but maybe it might not necessarily be the runaway hit device we think it is.

Take it with a grain of salt but we’ll have to wait until next year to find out if Munster’s predictions come true.
