Doctor Sues Apple Over The Apple Watch’s Afib Detection Feature

One of the newer features in the Apple Watch is the ability for it to check whether or not the user is experiencing Afib. This is thanks to the built-in ECG monitoring tool that according to reports, has saved quite a number of lives ever since it was introduced. However, it seems that not everyone is enamored by the feature.

One of those is a certain Dr. Joseph Wiesel from New York University, who is currently suing Apple over the Apple Watch’s Afib feature. According to Wiesel’s lawsuit, he claims that the Apple Watch’s feature has apparently infringed upon his patent, which he says marked the “pioneering steps” in monitoring Afib.

Wiesel was awarded a patent back in 2006 which describes how to monitor “irregular pulse rhythms from a succession of time intervals”. Wiesel also claims to have reached out to Apple back in 2017 about a potential partnership but apparently was rejected. In his lawsuit, Wiesel is asking the court to block the Cupertino company from using the technology and also for royalties he believed was owed to him.

It is unclear how this case will be resolved and if maybe Apple and Wiesel can come to some kind of agreement, but it will definitely is not the first time that the company has been accused of infringing upon a patent owned by someone else, although this is usually pretty common amongst big tech companies who are constantly in the spotlight.

LG New Cultivator Lets You Grow Vegetables Indoors

One of the problems with growing your own herbs and vegetables is that there are different ways to approach different plants, and unless you bother doing the time to research, you might not be successful with your attempts. However, LG is hoping to solve that problem by debuting an indoor vegetable cultivator at CES 2020.

With this new indoor gardening appliance, it will make the process of growing your own herbs and vegetables a lot easier, and also a lot more convenient as it can all be done indoors.

According to LG, “Utilizing flexible modules, the appliance replicates optimal outdoor conditions by precisely matching the temperature inside the insulated cabinet with the time of day. LED lights, forced air circulation and wick-based water management allow seeds to transform quickly into ingredients for delicious recipes and dishes.”

Would-be gardeners will only require is the use of all-in-one seed packages that contain both fertilizer and peat moss. There will also be an accompanying app for the cultivator that lets users keep an eye on their gardening efforts.

The cultivator will also feature enough space for as many as 24 seeds so while you won’t be growing enough to sell at the market, LG claims that it should be enough to feed a family of four.

There is no word on how much LG’s indoor cultivator will cost, although judging by its size and features, it probably won’t come cheap.

V-Coptr Falcon Drone Boasts A Flight Time Of 50 Minutes

While drones these days offer users a lot of fun and exciting new features, the problem is that for the most part, a lot of these drones do not have a particularly long flight time. For example, a quick survey on commercially available drones has revealed that the longest flight time is around 30 minutes or so.

If you don’t think that is enough for you, then you might be interested to learn that Zero Zero Robotics has launched their latest drone, the V-Coptr Falcon, which the company is claiming offers a 50 minute flight time, considerably longer than most of the drones available in the market today.

This is largely thanks to the dual motors that the drone uses on each of its tilting arms. The drone is a v-shaped bi-copter drone that also comes with a 4K 3-axis stabilized camera, and also offers up features like obstacle avoidance and also a 7km transmission distance, meaning that not only can it be operated far away, but it can also last long enough where you should have enough juice to fly it out and back without any issues.

Zero Zero Robotics is expected to officially launch the V-Coptr Falcon in February 2020 and if you’re interested, you can go ahead and pay a deposit of $100 to reserve it and then an additional $599 after.

Pixel 4a Renders Leaked, Shows Off 3.5mm Audio Jack, Hole-Punch Display Design

Earlier this year, Google launched the Pixel 3a. The phone is basically a more budget-friendly version of Google’s flagship smartphone launched in 2018. Based on the reviews, it seems that many can appreciate Google’s efforts to try and create a more affordable version of their Pixel flagship smartphones.

As such, as we expect that the trend will continue where come 2020, Google may very well launch the Pixel 4a, the budget variant of its 2019 Pixel 4 flagship devices. Now thanks to a collaboration between @OnLeaks and 91mobiles.com, renders of the handset have made their way online, showing off what we might be able to expect from it.

According to the renders, it seems that the Pixel 4a won’t deviate too far from the current Pixel design. It also shows that Google could be using a hole-punch display similar to what Samsung has done with its smartphones versus the notch, and it also looks like Google will be keeping the 3.5mm audio jack around.

What’s interesting is the camera module on the back of the phone. This is because the rumors are claiming that it will be a single camera design, so we’re not sure if such a boxy module is needed to begin with. The renders also seem to confirm a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Take these renders with a grain of salt, but if we are basing this on the Pixel 3a, there is a good chance the Pixel 4a could be announced at Google I/O 2020 in the first half of 2020.

Ryan Reynolds Confirms Deadpool 3 Is Happening At Marvel Studios

Many have been wondering about the fate of the Deadpool franchise ever since Disney acquired Fox. This is because of Disney’s approach of movies in which they try to keep them as family-friendly as possible to cater to a larger audience, and obviously Deadpool is not your family-friendly movie.

Disney had previously promised that they will keep making R-rated Deadpool movies and the good news is that it looks like they are keeping true to their word. Appearing on Live With Kelly  And Ryan, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds confirmed that Deadpool 3 is indeed in development over at Marvel Studios.

The actor was quoted as saying, “Yeah, we’re working on it right now with the whole team. We’re over at Marvel [Studios] now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It’s kind of crazy. So yeah, we’re working on it.” It is unclear who Reynolds is referring to as the “whole team”.

This is because Tim Miller, the original director of the first Deadpool movie, had left Deadpool 2 which was directed by David Leitch. It is also unclear when the movie will be released, and more importantly, how it will fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Either way, we suppose it’s still good news that the movie is being worked on and we’re sure many are looking forward to it.
