Apple’s AirDrop has been there for several years now to enable the transfer of files/documents from an iPhone (or macOS powered laptop) to another iOS/macOS device.

However, for Android – we do not have a dedicated stock app by Google yet.

Technically, Android has a lot of options to choose from if you want to transfer files to another phone or a PC, but most of them are third-party applications.

Given that the manufacturers are now trying to come up with their own applications (like OPPO / Xiaomi) – Samsung seems to be on the same track as well.

According to an exclusive report by XDA-Developers – Samsung has come up with a “Quick Share” app that essentially helps do the same thing. However, it also features a few more functionalities.

As you can see in the image above, the app also supports uploading to the cloud (Temporarily) when you want to send files to supported “SmartThings” devices. We cannot be too sure on what devices it points to – but it is definitely a probability that Samsung will unveil the app/service along with the Galaxy S20 launch.

Also, if this is going to be just another bloatware with Samsung’s pre-installed apps or if it’s going to be something useful – we do not know that for sure.
